Stand mixer

so.. I am currently looking for a Stand Mixer.. I’m kinda horrified by how expensive these stand mixers are.. geez.. it’s like the cost of a Coach bag!!

anyhow, I do have a hand mixer.. but the hand mixer I have is soooooo lousy – the low speed is not low at all, the batter splatters all over the place… yes!! it’s disgusting and I got to clean like siao each time i bake.. erm.. maybe I shan’t complain so much as it only cost US$14? A good stand mixer cost at least 10 times of what I paid last time!!

Having a stand mixer means u can do alot of things at 1 go also – like u don’t need to hold onto the mixer and put in the ingredients? heh… sometimes, BH will be ‘forced’ to b my stand mixer .. but it’s the splattering part tt irritates me

I seriously NEED a stand mixer – I am trying to abstain from the cheapest I can find as i don’t wanna regret again!!! ok.. so the cheap mixers have a attached bowl which is too shallow ( batter will splash again) When can I find the perfect one?

Criteria for stand mixer:
– comes with splash guard
– mixer is removable
– easy to keep
– under US$100

* I don’t mind a 2nd hand one 🙂

I am lusting for this…

P.S I love you

Have you watched P.S I love you? Well, it’s kinda like an old movie .. i always wanna watch it but due to my lifeless job in SG and the HIGH pricing of movie tix – I hardly watch any movies ..

anyhow, last night was one of those nights that we felt like watching a movie… fortunately, we have FREE HBO for 6 mths, else I think I might just missed this movie totally! So BH and I juz watched it last night.. oh man.. how we so regretted watching it… i was crying buckets!!! seriously buckets!!! 🙁 my eyes felt so tired and sore this morning… heh… FYI, BH also cried !! wahaha.. so now u know the extend of how soapy this movie is…

geez… BH was like sobbing and hugging me real tight ” Don’t leave me…. ” wahaha… can u imagine how egoistic and masculine I felt?? ;p  so i was like ” I’m not dying yet!!! I haven’t irritate u enuff!!” haha

I thank my lucky stars tt I was soooooooo busy in SG to watch this movie in the theatres.. coz i think i will look soooooooo awful crying in public man!!! heh..

The best part of the movie is the male lead, who’s sooooooooo handsome!! awww… and he plays the guitar!! guys who plays the guitar always melts my heart!!! ( erm… besides BH.. wahaha)

okok.. back to the plot… the part tt makes me very touched and cried the most is the similarities between of BH & I and the couple in the movie -young couple, got married, having a plan blah blah.. then suddenly out of the blue, the guy got brain tumour and pass away! actually, I suspect I might be the one to be with brain tumour and dying since I have frequent headaches. heh…

I was also very touched by how the man collaborated with the wife’s mum to leave letters/plan a vacation for her – the gesture was so sweet!! it’s such a bitter sweet movie… makes me wanna treasure everyone ard me ( not just BH)  even more 🙂

it’s sad but true…maybe you’ll truly realised or appreciate your loved ones when they are no longer ard…

So, is this movie based on a real life story???

He’s Just Not That Into You

Just watched this movie alone on HBO. aww.. i know i am kinda slow but it’s such a nice show abt r/s.. like the misconception of how guys treat you badly because they like you? heh.. it’s silly but some times when u r in love or if u r wondering if he’s interested… u do all the weirdest things!! I rem feeling how i’ll ‘lose’ or make him think ‘highly’ of himself if i mk the first move to sms or call.. oh well, i kinda miss that pounding heart feeling… it’s so exciting and mayb sweet at times!

anyhow, the movie reminds me of some r/s tips on TV. I was watching The Tyra Show at gym ysterday. btw, I love watching Tyra show.. haha… it’s juz so nice and informative and gossipy? the talk show was on SCIENTIFIC PROVEN RELATIONSHIP TIPS. Let me note down some of the stuff I can rem here

Scenerio 1: At 11.30 pm, there’s a sms on your guy’s HP. WHat would you do??

(1) Ignore

(2) Confront

(3) Check it!

It’s the little things

*random post – coz I just felt like blogging!*

So the long weekend came and went very quickly… we went to Serious Pie for lunch with Julius (pics on Julius’ iphone as we forgt our cam… wonder when can we get it) . Serious Pie deserves a review post!!! 🙂

I think BH had Monday/work blues… seriously…he was acting like a sick puppy…  anyhow, he still went to work today… heng ah! it’s weird but i don’t really like him to be home as I really like pte time with myself.. Eg:  I can reply emails in peace , go to the gym , eat whatever nonsense for lunch. When BH’s home, he will be like ‘eh.. what u doing?? why u smiling at the computer?’ & he will wanna eat proper lunch! sickeningly irritating!

okok.. all these things aside… today, I just felt like being nice and dedicating a post to BH.. awww.. so sweet… right?? heheh

I haven’t really blog on nice things abt BH for the longest time ..  coz i always feel tt since he’s my hubby, he’s obliged to do all these things ! oh well, so today’s post will b on the things he’s nt obliged to do but he did – tt’s what mks it ‘little’ and ‘sweet’? heh..

well,  BH is usually nice.. just tt sometimes, I don’t like to praise him.. Praising will mk him complacent… so when he does something nice and good… I’ll think of something else and urge him to go an extra mile for me.. mean? but I think it works for my ‘Jacob wannabe’  ;p

1) during the long weekend, there was this Lancome promo.. Genifique & Genifque Eye for like US$100. I don’t know how much it’s retailing at SG but imo this is super cheap > 2 items wld have been US$137!!! Of course, I wanted it – tried the sample previously and loved it.. makes the skin smooth… I was expecting BH to say tt it’s too ex… ask me to look for alternatives.. BUT he didn’t .. so he log on to the site and bought it for me ( while i was still hesitating..) !!! yay!! Happy!!

2) I was also lusting for Chanel Classic Flap bag.. man… too much of silly entertainment news / mags makes me want this bag so badly.. so BH made the effort to find out more abt the bag :O It was so random – instead of playing with his games, he was searching for this bag on ebay!! heh… not expecting him to buy for me.. it’s seriously toooooooo ex..even the 2nd hand one is ex ! but the effort and thought of getting it for me.. makes me happy! maybe a few years later? 🙂

3) he takes nice pics of me when I thought look awful.. awww.. at least I thought this pic of me looks nice 🙂

4) He spreads jam & butter on my bread for me every morning coz I told him my parents does tt for me last time… geez.. I’m such a baby…

5) He diligently wash the dishes, clean the sink and stove every night – even when he’s “sick”! wahahaha…

6) He washes my water bottle and fill up  the flask every night so that I’ll have lotsa water to drink in the day

maybe some times.. it’s the littlest things tt counts! 🙂

Just for record, *ahem* he has like 6 brownie points ONLY.. haha

1st day of 2010

woke up feeling sad.. and blue… was whining to BH .. suddenly.. i stared out of our window and saw a rainbow!! wow!!! This sight certainly changed the day!!

so we gt out .. in search of the pot of gold..hahaha… we can’t find it la.. think other pple were faster than us.. heh…

anyhow, i got to drink my fave Starbucks Creme Brulee latte and watched NEW MOON finally.. ahh.. I am TEAM EDWARD 🙂 Didn’t think Edward was good looking until i saw his sexy hip bones.. man.. and BH was like ” I think my body similar to his what!” I was dumbfounded man.. I mean… that’s called trying too hard can! wahaha…

ah.. New Year.. New Moon…. NEW idol!! hehehe

Happy New Year 2010 (Binghuan’s version)

Another new year another new place, not sure if I should consider it a blessing? Having to move so much furniture with the help of another guy is just torture, but somehow I feel happy that I did it. I think that almost sums up 2009 for me? It is just more and more new experience of stuff I would never go through if I didn’t jump up such a wonderful chance.

New experiences of staying independent without anyone’s help, just me and my wife? Having to go to market every week or two. Having to clean up dishes every night. Having to make the bed every morning, having to clean my own clothes, having to do all the things which one may have taken for granted last time as we are all so well-taken care of by our parents last time. Is this considered to be growing up? Well I think I took a bit longer than others to be going through all these. I cannot imagine myself turning the big 3 but here I am staring at it as it comes heading to my direction like a bullet train. *sigh*

No time to waste thinking about what if, what could, maybe? That’s why I am a die hard Nike fan now. Just Do It. Damnit just do it!
Why bother thinking about money… time is actually more expensive as you can’t really save it… If you want it, get it. (Of course only get it if you can afford it.)

So here I am, at my brand new place (which I hope would be more permanent is moving is just too tiring :p) Staring outside, waiting for the new year firework. Thinking about the many other places I want to go and see. I picked up a new form of hobby in photography in 2009. Something I am quite proud of actually! 🙂 I always loved doing design but time was never there for me to do all the design on the website that I dreamt of last time… Was just telling Amanda “Hey you know this site was something similar to what I wanted to do last time, but I had no time…” So I am very happy I got a dslr, although it cost a few hundred, at least it was instant gratification. I can see my work of art immediately! Plus it helps when I travel and take photos of the places…

Sorry for the randomness of this entry, jumping here and there. Think I haven’t blogged for too long and am too rusty. Back to 2009…

2009, visited some places like Whistler where the 2010 Winter Olympics is going to be held! Visited some of the more famous city in USA, like Las Vegas and the more boring one like San Antonio. Went to my very first tulips farm? Should really have gone out more… but we were on a mission in saving. And did we saved. We saved almost twice of what we did last time when both of us were working in Singapore. This year is no different. We will still be on a saving mission. You can imagine Amanda asking why I leave the TV on with no one watching… heh

And the thing about 2010 which we are not really looking forward to is we have to go back to settle our VISA and home… not that we don’t want to go back and see our families, its just that going back is going to hurt our saving mission… We will probably be back around Aug, Sept period… and stop over at Seoul for a short visit. We cannot even leave USA as our VISA won’t allow us to re enter USA… So 2010 only overseas trip will be Singapore.

What else to look forward for 2010? Hmmm, windows mobile 7 😀
Yea hopefully it can be strong enough to fight with iphone (kinda of hard)

Resolutions…
– I think I have been really bad to my body, so my resolution is to at least exercise once a week with the help of my personal trainer Amanda Goh.

I can’t really think of anything else actually. I love my wife like forever already. (Lub her deep deep is what we usually say in Singlish)
Hope the firework later is worth it, will post pics if I have good shots. 🙂

Christmas 2009

Seriously do not know if this will be my last Christmas in Seattle with BH 🙁 I feel that i’m leading a wasted life here.. but going back to work means it’s lifeless once again.. i really don’t know

Anyhow, BH and I had a “Messy Christmas” instead of a “Merry Christmas” We needed to move out of our old apartment by 30 Dec – so we did the moving and things were like lying ard in every inch of the new place. We also didn’t deco our new place or have any X’mas tree , unlike last yr 🙁  The first is always the best ( erm… just like 1st love? heh)

The day before Christmas Eve & Christmas Eve were spent baking

 
1) Cookies – cheated and used a ready made bake. heh.. turns out nice! okok.. i seriously wanted to mk my own cookies BUT all the rolling pins were OOS!! can u believe it??? man… muz stock baking supplies early here

It didn’t snow in Seattle this yr… so BH gave me a snowflake 🙂 It was sweet BUT can someone pls teach BH how to be romantic? heh.. he figured out tt i was happy with the little blue box last time and decided tt the blue box will mk me happy again… geez… it did but something fresh will be niceR!

BH also made us this!! A calendar! manz… I thought this was the sweetest thing he did after soooooooooo long!!

Every page in each mth was filled with great memories for the year (and I can see how much weight i gained each mth thru’ the pics.. thanx ah..) Anyhow, it’s still a cool and sweet gift!! Shall take pics of it mth by mth and put it up!

How we moved?

Moving is such a horrible experience… BH and I are so over it ( maybe not.. we still have some stuff in the OLD apartment!!!)

The truth is.. BH and I are super fortunate.. we have moved house in SG but we were so young tt we can’t recall how it was done… 🙁 so we naively thought that moving was like put stuff in the truck and move off… man… we were sooooooooooo wrong..

I felt bad about getting Abel ( our guest!) to help us out.. heh… but he kinda came at the ‘wrong’ time… ya see.. Abel came down from Victoria, BC.. needed a place to stay at Seattle before flying to Taiwan..so he was obliged to helped us… Seriously, thank God for sending him to help us… he was such a wonderful mover ( he moved hse for his relatives b4) – so he helped us alot with the arranging/packing of things in the truck, so it won’t be damaged in transit…

Without Abel, probably won’t be able to start the truck as well… ya know… It was BH’s st time driving the truck.. geez.. we don’t even know where’s the gears or brake (diff from normal car!)!! So Abel, who drove a lorry before, helped us out! 🙂

Without Abel, we probably will be living in darkness ( in our bedroom) as well – he helped us to install the ceiling light!

San Antonio 5 Dec – 9 Dec

*an outdated post*

For our annual year end holiday, BH and I made our way to San Antonio, Texas.. Why San Antonio?
1) We have never been to Texas
2) NBA match there – fit our schedule
3) There’ Seaworld
4) We are claiming pts on Southwest airlines ( given by BH’s sis) so this is a ‘worth it” destination

Overall, we seriously didn’t enjoy ourselves? haha.. we thought tt it’s kinda boring? well… it’s also the cheapest roadtrip we had ever made! so… erm… Here’s some highlights:

1) Flight

Our flight was in the wee hrs in the morning… Julius kindly sent us to the airport… heh.. we checked in our bags (bags fly free on Southwest!! yay!) and causally had breakfast until we realised…. it was kinda late!!! so we rushed to the gate and true enuff… it was the ‘last call’ and our names were annouced on the PA system!!! anyhow, we made it in time b4 the gate closed and started our 6hrs journey to San Antonio… phew… long flight!

2) Drove to our 1st NBA match at AT&T centre ( San Antonio Spurs vs Denver Nuggets)

It’s kinda interesting to match the match live… and to hear the ‘booing’ and all…heh.. I was bz checking out TONY PARKER ( he’s the Eva Longoria’s hubby can…) who’s not cute? The pt is BH gt one of his wishlist fulfilled though he thought the match was ok only…So we left b4 the match end as we didn’t wanna be caught in the crowd…

oh… we had FREE FLOW drinks, popcorn, corndogs, nachos for dinner… talking about junk food.. booo.. if i gained weight..it muz be coz of the free flow junk food 🙁

3) San Marcos outlet

Only 1 word to describe – HUGE. There’s Gucci, Fendi, Victoria Secrets ( things looks messy & dirty), Bath & Body works and our fave RUEHL

RUEHL is so ex online and in retail stores.. but so cheap here manz.. heh.. so we bought alot of clothes here.. ;p

4) Story: when 2 wrongs makes a right!
Rem our very basic rental car? there’s no remote to lock/unlock all the doors… means we have to manually lock/unlock ourselves… so… at the outlet, BH and I happily gt out of the car.. and guess what??? BH LEFT THE CAR KEYS IN THE CAR, i was like “WHAT!!!” ( already thinking of how to scold him liaoz..) then BH tried his luck by checking if all the doors of the cars are locked… geeez…. MY SIDE OF THE DOOR WAS NT LOCKED heh… heng ah… we got the car keys back…

I mean… shld BH be scolded for nt taking the car keys? or shld I be scolded for forgetting to lock the car door? heh…

5) Seaworld


very quiet… and boring… seriously, the most “unexciting” amusement park we have ever step foot on… even the shamu show is so sianz…

Our fave part of the trip was feeding the dolphins.. they were insanely greedy! haha

 

6) Visited all the 4 missions …..

and got myself a junior park ranger badge!! yeah!


tt’s all for our trip.. think we won’t be going anywhere out of WA state anytime soon.. as we will be saving $$ to go back SG to renew visa.. heh…
