Hawaii – Day 1 ( 5 Sept)

It was purely a spontaneous decision to go to Hawaii this yr – I mean our only holiday was supposed to be the Singapore-Korea trip next mth. However, there was a great deal on Hawaii flights and it coincides with our wedding anniversary + US labour day long weekend.. so we seized the opportunity and booked the tix!

Alright… so.. just when we thought everything was perfect and well-planned.. my period was coming along with us as well.. haha.. too bad for BH and me too!

*sick description ahead*

The whole plane ride from SEA > HNL was soooooooo uncomfortable.. maybe it was due to the pressurized cabin .. the moment I touched down on HNL.. I was bleeding profusely > the MOST I had ever seen since puberty. No joke!

Honolulu

While BH waited for our lugguage, I was leaking like a tap… rusty tap! 🙁 very moody and sianz… I was so angry with myself for being such a WET blanket ( literally)

We collected our rental car and drove straight to the vacation condo ( we rented direct from the owner > we will NEVER do this again because we need to clear the trash and clean up the place before we leave???!!! It’s a holiday and no housework is supposed to be done! cost wise is only abt $100 less than Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel)

At this pt.. I was very irritated as I had already stained my pants!!! grrr… so naturally I went to wash up and changed to another pair of pants. We left for lunch. Guess what? It’s only 15 mins and I stained my new pair of pants! 🙁 No choice, we needed to modify our plan for the day

I felt so sorry for BH as he needed to ‘waste’ time because of me.. BUT BH was awfully nice.. he was like “nvm.. we can go walk along the beach..”

Went back to the condo and did my laundry.. luckily, there was a dryer downstairs – so BH brought my clothes to the dryer

A pic of us waiting for my pants to dry – sianz.. forcing a smile. Not a good start to the getaway

forcing a smile

————–

Right after the ‘red sea’ episode – the coast was miracously clear!! With no time to waste, we went for Diamond Head Monument as planned

We were kinda rushing for time so we hike up real fast. This is when I felt that my gym sessions helped me a whole lot 🙂

Finally, after abt 45 mins of fast walking and climbing, we reached!

The view of Honolulu was spectacular

Would love to spend more time here BUT we are running short of time 🙁 So we made our way down reluctantly…

Honolulu was indeed love at 1st sight!

————-

Got back to the condo.. refreshed ourselves, got changed and headed to the much raved Alan Wong’s for dinner

We made reservation at 6pm and we reached on time!

Love the menu with our names printed – it was a HUGE ‘WOW’! even the staff signed on the menu! how cool! we requested to have window seat.. which was so awesome coz we saw a double rainbow! 😀 a good omen !

To us, the food was alright. We waited a long while for each dish to be served!! hmm… We don’t understand what’s so good abt this place except the personalised menu ( which they gift wrapped it so that we can bring home)

BH ordered a 7 course sampler while we shared like 3 appetizers ( pictures only show some food). Don’t look at the small portion – It was a fulling dinner! ok.. the only saving grace of that night’s dinner was the coconut ice-cream dessert

Total damage: US$160 ( the price for fine dining!! Not worth it imo, I will choose Dahlia’s Lounge anytime)

At the end of the day, BH was like ” it’s not a bad day afterall right? ” Indeed.. the day asn’t perfect BUT at least it ended well 🙂

San Juan Islands, WA

BH and I made our way to SJI on 16 JULY, we had been looking forward to this trip as it’s been so long that we went for a holiday/getaway.. Actually, I had been to SJI last yr with Caryn.. enjoyed it and decided to bring BH there this yr! I was seriously looking forward to this trip – booked whale-watch tour and accomodation abt 1 mth before.. even planned food to bring on this little roadtrip!

The day before, I instructed BH to collect Trophy cupcakes – he came home with 3 boxes.. wah! I was super excited tt he bought so many!!! BUT to only realised that he got 2 extra EMPTY boxes frm them… I was like ” ok…… ” 🙁

Anyhow, on the fateful friday – we woke up bright and early ” we are gonna have a whaling good time!” Drove abt 2 hrs to Anacortes Ferry Terminal and waited in line to board the ferry with our car.. its our 1st time driving up a ferry and I was super resistant to it .. coz I don’t like new things ..  BH was like ” if u don’t try, u don’t know! ” so….. we waited in line.. enjoying the nice and peaceful view

Finally, got on the ferry with the car – wah.. super easy.. like paying for carpark fees at the counter then drive-in .. no need to squeeze with pple.. The cost of car+2 humans on the ferry US$66!!!! :O geeez….

The jouney to Friday Habour was scenic… the little islands we saw along the way reminds us of LOST .. haha… but I was tired… we woke up super early to catch the ferry ya see ( my idea as I figured out that we might get lost since it’s our 1st time driving – turns out that everything went on smoothly)

Finally, we reached Friday habour ( on a friday! how apt!) then we ‘chiong’ to look for a FREE parking slot which allows us to park for 8hrs straight! And we explored the town. Popeye the habour seal is still ard! haha.. he just got fatter! This time, we didn’t need to feed him with fish – she ( it’s a female!) was popping out of the water when we reached there.. heh

Visited a spices shop ( which i think is new – didn’t see it last yr) , alot of interesting spices as you can see in the above pic.. I also met Paul the octopus in a souvenir shop and asked him if we wold see whales – he said yes BUT looks like he’s not accurate this time round 🙁 Btw, I love the sharky hat! so cute!

We joined San Juan Excursions for whale-watch as we manged to buy the tix cheap from Groupon

So…. there isn’t any whales… super disapted… I mean.. I had more fun with Caryn… well, this goes to say that some experiences are better shared with a special friend than with your hubby? haha.. I will always rem that I saw whales in its natural habitat for the first time with Caryn for life!!

The good news is – They issued us a ‘Rain check’ immediately ( on the boat) after they announced that we can’t see whales! I’m impressed! This means we cld go back to them anytime for another FREE whale-watch trip!!! 😀 So, it’s kinda like Buy 1 get 1 free?

After the ‘whale-less’ trip, we had dinner and checked into our B&B Trumpeter Inn You need a car/take a cab to reach this inn from Friday Habour – Like I mentioned, I don’t like to try new things, I rather stick with something I know BUT BH was like ‘ Try new things… ‘ so we booked here.. and drove to this ulu countryside place

Stayed at Yarrow room which was the cheapest and quite small… the first sounds we hear when we entered the room was ‘moooooooooooooooooo ‘ > cows!!! haha.. I was like ” that’s it! we are gonna sleep to this melodious music! ” Somehow, the cows stopped mooing after 8pm? haha… i think the farmer muted them or they fell asleep? hahaha

Location of the inn was quiet… we simply love the owner’s dogs.. they are so adorable.. we didn’t mind the Narrow Yarrow room as we were only staying for 1 night. Breakfast was ok… I still like breakfast at Kirk’s House – nobody can beat their Granola 🙂

After checking out, we went to Lime Kiln Park ( Whale-watch park) – Once again, Caryn and I saw whales here last yr!!! This yr… there’s no whales 🙁

Left the place disapted again and went to Pelindaba Lavender Farm It was the week of Lavender Festival and the lavender was at full bloom! Very pretty! 🙂

Harvested our own lavender which wasn’t very fun.. haha.. it’s quite tedious actually. Given a choice, I would choose to pick strawberries instead!

We drove ard the island… had ice-cream at Roche Habour and made our way to the Ferry terminal, just in time for the 1.30pm ferry back to Anacortes – then back to our usual ‘chores’ – groceries shopping

I felt that this trip was kinda wasted… coz we didn’t see whales and paid for the ferry, B&B 🙁 BH thought otherwise.. oh well, it’s nice that BH is always more generous with $ compared to me

Last pic to end the post

Looking forward to the next SJI trip – hope to see whales the next time round!!

Bainbridge Island, WA

I had set pictures aside and wanted to blog about this for the longest time BUT I was too busy to do so. Finally, found abit of time to do so now and then I’ll start to get busy again later

July 10

It was a bright and sunny day. ( haha.. i realised that I’m starting my blog entry like a Primary school compo!!) Anyway, summer is here and it was EXTREMELY sunny. I’m not hoping that I won’t melt in the sun when I’m back in SG. haha…

Actually, BH and I have no plans of going to Bainbridge – Our plan was for BH to go for a haircut , take a walk at Pike Place Market, buy some flowers and go for lunch. However, the weather was sooooooooo HOT and I was like ” Ice-cream would be nice….”

After the haircut, we decided to jump on a ferry and head to Bainbridge for lunch and ice-cream! 😀

The ferry ride was only 1/2 hr from seattle. We were very fortunate to reach the ferry terminal at 12noon and the next ferry was 12.20pm! haha.. don’t need to wait for a long time. The view on the ferry is beautiful as always.

It’s my 3rd time to Bainbridge – 1st with Caryn. 2nd with my family, 3rd with BH and I still like the place. Bought back really fond memories coz it was last yr around this time!!! So you can imagine me exclaiming these phrases  ” hey… Caryn and I sat here! ” , ” My family and I ate here!” when I bought BH ard.

haha… okok… there’s nothing much to see at Bainbridge BUT in my opinion the ice-cream mks it worth it! 😀

Our 1st stop. My fave ice-cream creamy –

Love the ice-cream – fave favours: Maraschino cherry and cream + swiss chocolate

Don’t tell me about the calories pls!!

Then we had lunch here:

we were greeted by flies when we entered the cafe. geez… So, we choose to sit at the outdoor area – watching the world cars go by

*Can’t rem the food’s name so I will rename it!* BH’s food – ‘ang mo’ curry puff with funky pink sauce. Haha… the first time we see pink sauce!

My food – Rice pudding. erm… nuff’ said..eeks! forced it down BH’s throat anyway

after lunch, we walked ard and smelt the flowers then took the 3.50pm ferry back. We were so tired ( the sun tire us out!) and we fell asleep on the ferry ride.  A pic of us to rem the spontaneous date! Tired but happy! It’s so easy to be happy here 🙂

Holiday of the year set!

BH and I had finally booked our air tix to go back to SG 😀 This is our ONLY holiday of the year! We are looking forward.. heh.. shan’t reveal the exact date here but it’ll be in Oct-Nov period.

After a very very long decison, we had decided to travel by Asiana Airlines, which happens to be the Airline of the Year 2010. It’s cheaper than SQ ( not like we are considering taking SQ – too ex) Because we are taking Asiana, we’ll have a super long layover at Korea ( it’s 22 hrs till the next flight). After calling the customer service countless times and reading forums, Asiana will be providing us a FREE 1N LAYOVER HOTEL in Seoul!!!! How cool is that! Seriously, keeping our fingers crossed that they will keep their word. heh…

Besides that, on the return trip, we will also be stopping in Korea for a 8 days holiday! It was supposed to be only 7 days BUT BH suggested we shld just go for 8 days so that we don’t have to rush.. can take time to ‘smell the flowers’ yay!

Do give suggestions on where to visit, what to do, where to stay? haha.. we haven’t really plan our Korea trip

Now there’s something really exciting to look forward to 🙂

Beach Vacation

BH and I have NEVER gone for a beach vacation after being with each other for sooooooo long! haha.. okok.. we went to Sentosa a couple of times.. counted? Both of us like shopping so we have this mentality that beach vacation is boring.. like what can we do man? lie on the beach and f*ck in the room? haha.. erm.. we are not that kinda sex-ed up couple.. seriously!

anyhow, because we need to go back to SG ( dates not confirmed) and we are saving up almost all our money – we are thinking of going on a short vacation. I was suggesting Batam or Bintan.. and BH looks at me with a “ewww…” expression

So while surfing around one afternoon… I found THE place .. this was my email to BH

—–

batam feels sleazy
bintan not classy
hawaii too costly
Phuket confirm kinky!!!

http://www.andaraphuket.com/

3rd honeymoon at Pool side villa??
what say u?? ;p

 ——

I think my parents will freak if they know we are going to Phuket… :X BH was like US$550+ might as well go Hawaii .. then i was like ” you have your own POOL can!” haha.. then he started to do his own research on renting other villas in Phuket..

oh well.. looking at things… we “talk only, no action” – going back to SG this yr is probably gonna be our ONLY holiday .. kinda disapted… but it’s ok… Looking at the LONG TERM GOAL.. everything s worth it..

we have to ‘REN’ – nearly there!!

Happy New Year 2010 (Binghuan’s version)

Another new year another new place, not sure if I should consider it a blessing? Having to move so much furniture with the help of another guy is just torture, but somehow I feel happy that I did it. I think that almost sums up 2009 for me? It is just more and more new experience of stuff I would never go through if I didn’t jump up such a wonderful chance.

New experiences of staying independent without anyone’s help, just me and my wife? Having to go to market every week or two. Having to clean up dishes every night. Having to make the bed every morning, having to clean my own clothes, having to do all the things which one may have taken for granted last time as we are all so well-taken care of by our parents last time. Is this considered to be growing up? Well I think I took a bit longer than others to be going through all these. I cannot imagine myself turning the big 3 but here I am staring at it as it comes heading to my direction like a bullet train. *sigh*

No time to waste thinking about what if, what could, maybe? That’s why I am a die hard Nike fan now. Just Do It. Damnit just do it!
Why bother thinking about money… time is actually more expensive as you can’t really save it… If you want it, get it. (Of course only get it if you can afford it.)

So here I am, at my brand new place (which I hope would be more permanent is moving is just too tiring :p) Staring outside, waiting for the new year firework. Thinking about the many other places I want to go and see. I picked up a new form of hobby in photography in 2009. Something I am quite proud of actually! 🙂 I always loved doing design but time was never there for me to do all the design on the website that I dreamt of last time… Was just telling Amanda “Hey you know this site was something similar to what I wanted to do last time, but I had no time…” So I am very happy I got a dslr, although it cost a few hundred, at least it was instant gratification. I can see my work of art immediately! Plus it helps when I travel and take photos of the places…

Sorry for the randomness of this entry, jumping here and there. Think I haven’t blogged for too long and am too rusty. Back to 2009…

2009, visited some places like Whistler where the 2010 Winter Olympics is going to be held! Visited some of the more famous city in USA, like Las Vegas and the more boring one like San Antonio. Went to my very first tulips farm? Should really have gone out more… but we were on a mission in saving. And did we saved. We saved almost twice of what we did last time when both of us were working in Singapore. This year is no different. We will still be on a saving mission. You can imagine Amanda asking why I leave the TV on with no one watching… heh

And the thing about 2010 which we are not really looking forward to is we have to go back to settle our VISA and home… not that we don’t want to go back and see our families, its just that going back is going to hurt our saving mission… We will probably be back around Aug, Sept period… and stop over at Seoul for a short visit. We cannot even leave USA as our VISA won’t allow us to re enter USA… So 2010 only overseas trip will be Singapore.

What else to look forward for 2010? Hmmm, windows mobile 7 😀
Yea hopefully it can be strong enough to fight with iphone (kinda of hard)

Resolutions…
– I think I have been really bad to my body, so my resolution is to at least exercise once a week with the help of my personal trainer Amanda Goh.

I can’t really think of anything else actually. I love my wife like forever already. (Lub her deep deep is what we usually say in Singlish)
Hope the firework later is worth it, will post pics if I have good shots. 🙂

Happy new year to all!

San Antonio 5 Dec – 9 Dec

*an outdated post*

For our annual year end holiday, BH and I made our way to San Antonio, Texas.. Why San Antonio?
1) We have never been to Texas
2) NBA match there – fit our schedule
3) There’ Seaworld
4) We are claiming pts on Southwest airlines ( given by BH’s sis) so this is a ‘worth it” destination

Overall, we seriously didn’t enjoy ourselves? haha.. we thought tt it’s kinda boring? well… it’s also the cheapest roadtrip we had ever made! so… erm… Here’s some highlights:

1) Flight

Our flight was in the wee hrs in the morning… Julius kindly sent us to the airport… heh.. we checked in our bags (bags fly free on Southwest!! yay!) and causally had breakfast until we realised…. it was kinda late!!! so we rushed to the gate and true enuff… it was the ‘last call’ and our names were annouced on the PA system!!! anyhow, we made it in time b4 the gate closed and started our 6hrs journey to San Antonio… phew… long flight!

2) Drove to our 1st NBA match at AT&T centre ( San Antonio Spurs vs Denver Nuggets)

It’s kinda interesting to match the match live… and to hear the ‘booing’ and all…heh.. I was bz checking out TONY PARKER ( he’s the Eva Longoria’s hubby can…) who’s not cute? The pt is BH gt one of his wishlist fulfilled though he thought the match was ok only…So we left b4 the match end as we didn’t wanna be caught in the crowd…

oh… we had FREE FLOW drinks, popcorn, corndogs, nachos for dinner… talking about junk food.. booo.. if i gained weight..it muz be coz of the free flow junk food 🙁

3) San Marcos outlet

Only 1 word to describe – HUGE. There’s Gucci, Fendi, Victoria Secrets ( things looks messy & dirty), Bath & Body works and our fave RUEHL

RUEHL is so ex online and in retail stores.. but so cheap here manz.. heh.. so we bought alot of clothes here.. ;p

4) Story: when 2 wrongs makes a right!
Rem our very basic rental car? there’s no remote to lock/unlock all the doors… means we have to manually lock/unlock ourselves… so… at the outlet, BH and I happily gt out of the car.. and guess what??? BH LEFT THE CAR KEYS IN THE CAR, i was like “WHAT!!!” ( already thinking of how to scold him liaoz..) then BH tried his luck by checking if all the doors of the cars are locked… geeez…. MY SIDE OF THE DOOR WAS NT LOCKED heh… heng ah… we got the car keys back…

I mean… shld BH be scolded for nt taking the car keys? or shld I be scolded for forgetting to lock the car door? heh…

5) Seaworld

very quiet… and boring… seriously, the most “unexciting” amusement park we have ever step foot on… even the shamu show is so sianz…

Our fave part of the trip was feeding the dolphins.. they were insanely greedy! haha

6) Visited all the 4 missions …..

and got myself a junior park ranger badge!! yeah!

tt’s all for our trip.. think we won’t be going anywhere out of WA state anytime soon.. as we will be saving $$ to go back SG to renew visa.. heh…

San Francisco 17 Sept – 20 Sept

Bh and I went for a short getaway last last weekend I love such getaways… it’s like a non peak period.. I don’t have to ‘report’ to anyone… we can do anything we want… (BH just need to take leave tt’s all) I can NEVER do this when I’m in SG… I treasure such getaways so much and i wonder.. how many of these times will I have before I got 2 go home ..

anyways, BH and I drove to this airport off site parking – Seatac Park… parked our car there then took their shuttle to the airport.. it was really convenient and inexpensive abt US$28 for 4D, 3N ( compared to taking a cab for 2 of us)

This time we took Virgin America.. wah… really impressed by the flight… the in-flight entertainment is good!!! (Note: Need to pay $2 for earphones. Bring your own!!) Drinks are FREE but no snacks… The plane looks, smells and feels clean and new! 1st time I enjoyed my domestic flight 🙂 By the time we reach SFO, it was abt 8pm.. we wanna tk BART initially to the hotel BUT Bh figured out tt it might nt be safe… so we took a cab. Cab from SFO airport to Downtown SFO cost abt $42 (with tips).. Check in to Hotel Intercontinential and you might wanna read my previous entry on reviews on the hotel

1st day:
woke up bright and early… walked a distance to pick up our rental car… so that we cld go to the factory outlet… okok… like… seattle also have outlets BUT this particular outlet in SFO have GUCCI outlet!!! So we headed to vacaville Premium Outlet

IMG_1006

Are u thinking that I must have spent a BOMB there??? well…… u r sooooooo wrong!!! in fact, i didn’t spend a single cent at Gucci coz i didnt see anything that I really really like… BH was like ‘ drive so far here.. u shld get something..’ BUT i just didn’t…

So we headed back to SFO … seriously, I am sooooooo bad with directions… BH wanted to drive thru’ the GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE but i just can’t find it on our GPS.. he was driving and was clearly very frustrated with me.. he was soooooo agitated that when he stopped the car ( at a safe spot to check the directions himself) i was soooooooooo afraid tt he’s gonna roll me into a ball and dump me into the sea… geeez…. so i zipped my mouth and act invisible :X anyhow, we got our directions correct *finally* and crossed the bridge.. Btw, if u wanna travel on the Golden Gate Bridge it’s call US101, need to pay $6 toll!

Below are some pics taken at Golden Gate Bridge park… we were blessed with fantastic weather… though it’s sunny, it’s still really really cold… coz of the wind… grrrrrr….

2009-09-18

After which we left the bridge, headed to return the car and went to Pier 39 for the sealions… they are super stinky!!! the kinda stingy smell… yucks… wanna stay there for a longer time.. the smell just puts me off! eeks… we left to have delicious dinner at Crab House at Pier 39

DSCF6236DSCF6234

Food was great!! looking at the pics makes me soooooo hungry!! ops.. i didnt take pic of the Tiramishu cake… It was the bestest Tiramishu that I had ever tasted… yummy!!!

we didn’t really have time to admire the views from the resturant or to be ‘romantic’ as we were rushing for our Alcatraz tour on Pier 33…( looking back, it’s so shocking tt we managed to do alot of things on Day 1)

2009-09-181

Alcatraz – interesting place… but i kinda feel creepy and scared the moment I entered the place… full of prison cells… we were walking ard the prison with a audio guide… and it was quite crowded… got to know alot of stories via the audio guide and posters on the wall… maybe i’m just not familiar with all these notorious prisoners… most of the time i was like “???” so I got to read up more on this place

Bh and I were super under-dressed… it was awfully cold as the night creeps in… I was so glad to be back in the hotel at night… and we were dead tired

Day 2:
We went sightseeing downdown and this includes the cable car… bought a 1 day pass for US$11, u can take the cable car unlimited times. The wait for the cable car was horribly long…. alot of tourists!! everyone was rushing to sit at the open air front part of the cable car.. heh… it’s really cool to stand on te cable car BUT it’s something tt mum will say NO to!!! haha

2009-09-19

I was pretty excited when i saw a ‘Japanese Sweets’ store… love those jap cakes and all.. and we bought some… yummy!!! 🙂

Took the cable car and headed to chinatown , definitely more lively than the seattle’s one.. in fact, it was super crowded as there’s “Mid autum festival pasar malam” haha… bought moon cakes, wife biscults and 4 bottles of XO sauce for like $23!

2009-09-191

The day ended pretty fast… had dinner at the downtown Jap resturamt and went to Lombard Street

So that’s for Day 2

Day 3:
Going home to seattle…

took BART to the airport – only US$8.10, takes abt 35mins to reach airport

We forgt to check in the XO sauce… and BH who was carrying it got “detected” … in the end, he was escorted by the officer to check in the bag.. scary sia….

flight reach seattle in the afternoon and we went grocery shopping ..

tt’s all for our trip.. wondering when’s the next… haha…

1 last pic of us to rem the trip 🙂

Review of InterContinental Hotel San Francisco

Hotel rating: 4 stars
Price we paid: Not sure.. booked the package with air tix from expedia
OUR rating: 5 stars

hotel

I was telling myself that IF i didn’t blog about this hotel.. it will be so unjustifiable for the excellent service we received… so here am i.. blogging abt it 🙂

Bh and I stayed in this hotel from 17 Sept to 20 Sept ( 3 nights) . The first night we arrived, it was kinda late, we only managed to reach the hotel and check in at 8.30pm. So we were given a room on the 14th floor. We asked if there were any higher levels.. the guy at the front desk said no. We went to check the room out.

Room at 1419 – had a huge 42″ TV.. wow! the view was YUCKS though rooms ending with -19 had full length windows from celling to floor. We were very disapted with the room… and coz Bh told them it was our 1 yr anniversary, we had 2 stalks of almost dead white roses on the bed.. i was like ” ermm.. is it supposed to be romantic?” anyhow, BH called the front desk, there’s no pick-up (prob bz) so he left a messenge. After 15 mins, front desk did not return call. So we went down to them and spoke to the same guy who gave us our keys. He told us that there were NO rooms on higher floors ( I think it’s ridiculous!! i mean the hotel is so HUGE and it’s not even the peak period!) BUT he took down our request and phone no. and assured us that he wld check and call us tml IF there’s a available room! wah.. the service is definitely much better than MArriot Vancouver

So we reluctantly went back to our room and just thought that we shld let it rest….. suddenly, a phone call came.. it was from the manager on duty at the Front desk!!! ;p She told us that she had a couple of other rooms at high floors and will come up to our room and bring us to it!!!! We were soooooo thrilled by her service… i mean… we are not any V.I.Ps!!!

This manager ( we didn’t see her name.. wasted~~~) , a japanese lady brought us to view 2 other rooms on the 32 and the 33 floor. We choose the room on the 33 floor – she told us it’s a exclusive level.. haha… This room have nice water view… 🙂 We moved our stuff and once in the room, we saw fireworks at the pier! we were surprised!! There’s no special events we know of… haha

Did we pay extra for the room?? NO!! we didn’t! heh… it was supposed to be $60 MORE /night!!

Conclusion: GREAT customer service! Nice hotel room! we’ll definitley choose this hotel again!! Thank you Japanese Manager who was on duty on 17 Sept 09, 9.30pm 🙂

Mini Roadtrip to Fall City + Snoqualmie + others

BH and I made a short roadtrip to Fall City and Snoqualmie and North Bend and more.. phew.. so many places… quite tiring actually… oh well…read on..

1st Stop: Fall City Roadhouse

Seattle > Fall City. Took I5 then Hwy 202. Pass Redmond. Total journey time is 45mins. Traveled thru’ narrow roads and farms.. and finally.. we reached Fall City! The Fall City Roadhouse can be easily seen once u enter from Hwy202

when we reached here, we seriously had a hard time looking for a decent parking slot 🙁 We ended up parking in someone’s basketball court, where there’s a sleeping dog We walked towards the restaurant and BH realized tt he didnt bring his camera, so he walked back to the car… and the dog was awake alr!guess what? It was barking at BH sooooo ferociously like it’s gonna attack him! I was terrified!!! ” what if the dog have rabies?”I really do not know how to help him 🙁 as I was watching helplessly, an angel appeared! She seem to know the dog, so she called onto it and distract it ” shadow!! shadow!!”

as the dog was distracted, bh managed to get into the car. By then, there’s a decent parking slot available. He quickly parked the car and we went into the resturant… man… bad experience!

Bottomline: Wait for a slot – do not park near a black furry dog, if u do… make sure u distract it .. it’s name is “Shadow”

We ordered food , can’t rem what BH ordered BUT I had Biscuits with gravy.

I think i was too freaked out by the dog or something… the food didnt taste tt good to me 🙁 anyhow, we finished the food and left the place.

2nd stop: Snoqualmie Falls

We head to Snoqualmie Falls – parked at a slot with 90mins limit.. i think we spent only like 20mins there.. haha

The waterfall is really pretty ( as seen from the pic below, we are not even using professional camera) and it’s cold! so pls bring a windbreaker!

3rd Stop: Northwest railway Museum

Found this place by accident! we were on our way to North Bend and we saw this touristy place… so we stop by and took a look

If you are wondering.. the train actually moves… for like US$10, we can take this train from Snoqualmie > North Bend>Snoqualmie again. we wanted to try BUT thot it’s ptless… haha… maybe during x’mas

4th stop: Snoqualmie Casino

Well.. the gambler in Bh says he wanna stop by Snoqualmie Casino. Very new… very nice.. and the guards stop me to check my ID – they think i’m under-aged! I feel sooooo flattered! 🙂

5th Stop: North Bend

For the factory outlets .. not so crowded! ;p

6th stop: Seattle Costco

p1010320

It’s a huge supermarket tt sells almost everything.. need member card to go in… oh well.. we come here occasionally to buy food in bulk, they only sell food in bulk and large quantities..

The BIGGEST reason for us to be here is…… we needed to buy a fan as the weather is getting warmer…Costco is the like 7th place we went to look for a fan… no.. fans are cheap starting from abt US$20.. just tt BH is being soooo picky!

Let me list down the places we went( FYI, we went to no. 1 – 6 on saturday!)

1) Walmart

2) Home Depot

3) Kmart

4) Best buy

5) Target

6) Bed Bath & beyond

7) Costco ( lucky 7! we bought our fan.. phew… u wont wanna noe  how many apartments we viewed before we choose our current one )

7th Stop: Uwajimaya

Grocery shopping … Bought fish.. wanna steam BUT i forgot to buy ginger

8th Stop: Safeway ( near our place)

Bought ginger and head home… traffic was really bad at our area as there’s women NBA at keyArena, right outside our aptment…

To save money,I came home and cooked spaghetti for dinner… oh well.. That’s our busy weekend.. 🙂
