It’s our 3rd X’mas together over in the US of A.. loving it 🙂 It’s wet and cold outside and we are glad that it isn’t snowing! heh.. weird isn’t it?

Leavenworth in Winter
It was our 1st time to Leavenworth. Finally!! We found some Singaporean friends who are in Seattle and keen to go on this day trip together 🙂 The trip to Leavenworth was abt 2.5 hr long, it’s always nice to travel with more pple.. mks the trip more bearable.
Prior to the daytrip, BH and I were very worried abt the road conditions as the weather at the other side of WA isn’t ideal – It was cold, icy and snowy… roads were closed! However, the morning of our trip, weather seems to be better.. so we happily set off
After a long drive, we reached Leavenworth.
[Sidetrack: I first heard abt Leavenworth from Caryn – who told me that it was a german inspired town. Our first time here would have been with Caryn .. felt so bad and guilty upon seeing this place as Caryn would have loved it!]
Leavenworth at this time is a Winter Wonderland indeed! The place was snowing cats & dogs. I felt like I was trapped in a snowglobe and a naughty child was shaking the globe profusely – The snow was falling around us!! It was a great feeling to see snow BUT too much of it just mks things very inconvenient, wet and cold.
Nevertheless, we braved the cold and snow and walked ard downtown… soaking in the christmas cheer! oh yes… it was super crowded!

The trip back to Seattle was kinda rough in my opinion. We walked back to our car, to find it covered with snow – poor Blackie.. it must be shivering cold. We did not have a shovel BUT fortunately, we have strong travel mates who pushed Blackie out of the snow puddle and we started our journey home. It was a tortuous drive as it was still snowing… the roads were filled with snow and ice. I felt our car skid a few times and we were travelling at snail speed. It took us abt 3hrs to reach a decent place for dinner. I’m glad we made it back safely 🙂
A great trip with wonderful company! If only, there isn’t that much snow! I hope to visit Leavenworth on a more sunny day.. haha…hope to buy cherries and peaches the next time round!

Windows Phone X’mas Party
Last weekend, BH and I went to the Windows Phone X’mas Party! It was the FIRST time I attended such an event! it was kinda last minute and I wasn’t prepared.. boo.. I didn’t buy nice and new x’masy dresses *Sobz* anyhow, I don’t wanna be underdressed.. Fortunately, I found a dress = my uniform for wedding dinners.. haha.. it’s silver in colour, quite X’masy 😀 For BH, he wore the same blazer as 6eptember..brings back nice memories!
We arrived at the event and the company arranged for Valet parking for pple who drove! My jaw dropped. I didn’t expect it to be sooooooooooo big scale. Heng ah.. we dressed up.. imagine if we didn’t?? Think we will stick out like sore thumbs! :X
The party was super cool! Met BH’s collegues.. and the night was spent eating and drinking… and dancing… geez… it felt like a HIGH class club ( w/o the smoke and rawdy pple) – u get the pt

Seoul + Jeju Nov 2010
Let’s just say… we will not b visiting Seoul for a long time
Once again, BH planned the itinerary while I asked ard and got many response from helpful friends with regards to places of interest. The itinerary was basically “paper talk strategy/soldier” ( translate to chinese) – we didn’t follow it.. Basically, we did whatever we felt like doing everyday.. haha
As for shopping, it’s NOTHING like Gmarket 🙁 Boo… I thnk Gmarket shopping is even better… so… we didn’t buy much…
ok fine..Maybe it was just me – I don’t watch Korean drama.. the only Korean drama which I watched + completed watching is the Korean F4: Boys Before Flowers. That’s y I didn’t appreciate the place as much as others 🙁 NO! I’m not saying Korea is not fun BUT rather..I am not FUN enough for Korea

Joined a DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone) Tour
Below shows picture explaining abt the 3rd tunnel, can’t tk photo of the real thing BUT the walk down was very steep and slippery! If u r tall, u will need to bend your back for the whole journey!! hehe.. good to be short!

Free chocolates given by our Doulos Hotel on our last day. Nice hotel, reasonable price with free breakfast. We had a great stay BUT there was only 1 girl at the front desk who cld speak better English..
Hangang River fountain show – the timing on the website is not accurate. Luckily, we were early!! we managed to listen and see this for abt 10mins before it ends
The walk to see this bridge water fountain was tortuous! We walked a super far + it was sooo cold!! Not fun!
Finally flew to Jeju after 5 days in Seoul.. we had a whole lot of luggage so we had no choice but to deposit some of our items at Gimpo airport storage room (paid US$45 for 2 days, 2 luggage)

Diana intro. a local guide to bring us sightseeing BUT we called him and he was booked for the day. Sob! had no choice but to join the tour which our hotel had contact with
so.. the tour had 10 tourist and out of the 10… 6 were singaporeans! haha.. so interesting! maybe it was a blessing in disguise.. we thought our trip to Korea was screwed up.. BUT at least we made friends!!
So the tour brought us to Sunrise peak – beautiful place!

There was suppose to be a performance BUT we missed it because our tour needs to go on.. sigh!
The rest of the tour was not worth mentioning.. until the last part of the tour, we went to a cave Lava tube and we walked a distance in the dark & wet column to see the ‘crystallised’ lava ! Pls pardon me if I use the wrong terms. This lava tube is BETTER than the one in Hawaii, Big Island

Ended the night by having dinner with our new found Singaporean Tour mates 🙂 It wouldn’t have been enjoyable if we haven’t met them!
This ends my Korea trip entry! And I am so gonna join a tour if I am going to Korea next time!

U know when I just arrived in US – BH was expecting me to get a iphone.. I didn’t.. I mean.. he even bought a iphone cover for me ( still sitting in a corner of our home, anyone wants?) BUT I bought the old Windows Phone 6.5
Today, while playing with my new Windows7 phone.. I was trying hard to recall y I didn’t get the iphone… then I rem…
1) I didn’t like the overall look.. it’s complicated and messy ( in my humble opinion)
2) You need to pay iphone tax! Crazy as it sounds.. but blah… a few $ a mth adds up!
So I was already v contented with my windows phone 6.5 then came Window7 phone. I was blown away!! I don’t care abt the other apps BUT I love the overall look.. it didn’t scare me off! The tiles were big, neat and simple! Having alot of apps/icons on the phone is like having a messy desktop on your computer , which I cannot stand. The sad thing abt Windows phone is there’s no nice covers for it yet .. boo… If only Kate Spade has nice Windows phone casing
The point is… My new Windows7 phone is like a 2nd computer to me!!! 😀 I just discovered that I access DBS ibanking u know!!! wow!!! lub it deep deep!!
To make sure I have more knowledge of my windows7 phones & iphones, I went to watch a few techic videos comparing iphones vs windows7 phone.. Yes.. I admit IE can be slow at times BUT it’s only slower by at most 5 secs? oh well, we can’t expect the best of everything right?? 🙂

Thanksgiving weekend
Because of the snow.. BH had a v long weekend. While he worked at home, I had to be the maid – preparing his meals. hmmm.. I still like him at work then I can do whatever I like.. keke.. he’s ‘spying’ on me when he’s home :X
anyway, BH was working and checking on deals.. geez.. he didn’t lay a finger to help at all.. I was super busy and at the end of the day.. tired
so I made Sausage Croissant for snacks one afternoon. Played cheat.. used the ready-made dough..
Impressed that the dough already had triangles on them.. so just roll in the sauages and put in the the oven
surprisingly.. they taste good!!
Only 3 left as the rest were in our tummy!!!
For Thanksgiving dinner.. instead of Turkey, I roasted a chicken and cooked Mee Siam… how Singaporean is that! haha
Julius came over for dinner… pardon me looking so shag.. it was a long day preparing food without help.. boo

On Black Friday itself, we went to Vancouver with Julius and friends – it was raining.. so sianz.. didn’t do much.. it was a eating trip.. and I think i gained a whole lot of weight already!

The next day.. BH and I went to get ourselves the WINDOWS PHONE and we saw a notebook on super duper sales so we bought it! It’s probably the most geeky day ever for us .. haha

If you think iphone is cool… u need to try the WINDOWS PHONE! It’s way cooler! haha… and I’m loving FOTOCHOP app.. Other than that, I’m loving the overall look and simplicity of the device 🙂 At least, I don’t feel overwhelmed by looking at so many buttons/icons .. loving it!
The 1st thing I did was to put Bambi as my screensaver 😀 Happy that I could have all my fave things in 1 place

First snow
of the winter season!!
The weather for the past few days is super cold! i mean ‘cold’ is an understatement.. it’s FREEZING COLD!! for once, we miss the weather in Singapore!
Quite thankful that we stocked up on our food supplies this week! phew!
BH is at work now and I’m praying tt he won’t be delayed by the snow and he cld mk it home fast 🙁
Kinect weekend!
This weekend is probably one of the most fun weekend ever!
On Sat. , we went to BH’s collegue’s place for Kinect party!! 😀 hang out and played the Kinect games – Adventures!! So cool!! Love playing 20,000 leaks!! oh.. i was too shy to try out the dancing game on BH’s collegue’s Kinect though 🙁
On Sunday, we met up with Julius for dinner at Din Tai Feng. This is the FIRST + 1 and ONLY Din Tai Feng in Seattle. Oh yes.. the wait was horrible… it took us 3hrs to get a table!!! :O Food is nt as nice as the one in SG …

After the delicious treat from Julius, we went to his home for…. KINECT!!! o… and I got to tell you.. BH really can dance!! ok fine.. i think i m just bad with coordinating my arms and legs! anyway, BH is GREAT with the dancing games!! woohoo!! keke.. will try to record it down next time!!

Parting is such sweet sorrow
I think the quote above is sooooooo overused by me.. but.. parting was indeed sweet sorrow!Sweet as in BH and I can’t wait to be back to our usual routine but on the other hand, we’ll miss our family and friends
Our families met up at Dian Xiao Er T3 for dinner. My sis rushed down from work – there was some screw up with her company’s shuttle bus so she took a cab down ( which was v ex considering it’s peak hr!) I was v touched! If you know my sis.. she’s quite good at entertaining guests! I know that it must be super weird for her to talk and entertain my in-laws ( who are quiet pple) BUT she did it awefully well! I mean.. it’ll be soooo weird if the dinner table is very quiet! At least for my family, it’s nv quiet when we are together and food is always MORE than enuff.. that’s what I miss abt home.. my home!
I had a wonderful time catching up with my family in SG, even when my sis is working shifts , and is hardly ard during weekends. I guess we mk up on her off days. This time she drove us ard instead of I drive her ard 🙂 She’s grown up!!!
Erm.. with BH’s family – it was ok..no offence but i don’t feel comfy with his family some how.. their family is very much more reserved.. v v different from my family! I sure hope that MY OWN family is the open type – you know.. those talk alot and laugh out loud type… I attended BH’s extended family’s dinner and I thought of getting to know his relatives personally – his cousins actually said ” iyah.. no need to know our names.. just call us no. 1 , no. 2 and no. 3″ I was like WTF??!! I was being friendly… it’s so different from my own family 🙁
ok.. so.. finally, it was time for us to go into the gate.. i gave my family and dear friends a tight hug.. thanked BH’s mum for buying stuff for us .. held back my tears.. u know.. i’m quite a emotional person.. ohh.. my mum looked so tearful!! 🙁 Crossed the customs, waved our goodbyes.. till 6 mths later!

we went to YY and WT new home.. well.. it was very nice! I was seriously jealous ( in a good way.. haha) coz I know tt our home might not be this nice. BH always gets very upset when I think lowly abt us… but I guess.. it’s just me 🙁
and Aug and Jes is getting married next July – tt’s when BH and I will be back in SG 🙂 we will always be v grateful for Aug who solved our BIG prob at church on 6eptember! I am super happy and excited for Aug and Jes!
