Review: Palisade

It was a bright and sunny day yesterday. I thought that I could just melt in the sun… i didn’t know the sun can be so strong in Seattle… haha.. then i quietly wondered how am I gonna ‘tahan’ SG weather when I go back man.. heh..

Oh well, BH and I went for our mthly eat good food date yesterday! yay!! It also happened to be the start of Seattle Resturant Week So we browse thru’ the list of promo and decided to try brunch at Palisade Still wanna thank Caryn deep deep for setting up opentable a/c for me.. reservations is only a click away! Fuss free! 🙂

Ok.. so the resturant is located at a kinda “ulu” place – we drove to a place which we have nv explored before. I hate going to new places coz I dunno what to expect and I need to be attentive to ‘guide’ BH as he drive. Geez…anyhow we missed a turn and had to be redirected. Luckily, we started early so we still reached there on time. I was surprised to see that there were many cars at the carpark, considering its location.. haha.. place reminded me of Marina , Keppel bay? Only nicer?

The beautiful place. Imagine how nice it it to live on top of the hill ( 1st pic).. hehe.. 3rd pic shows the mountains, not clouds behind the shore. beautiful! This is what I love to see on a clear day! 🙂

Reservation was at 11.15am but we still got to wait when we get there.. geeez… but when we were shown to our seats – it was worth it. Window seat ( we requested on our reservation) and the view… nice! Can you see the needle? haha.. it thrills me that I am now on the other side of the needle! 😀

we thought the Seattle Resturant Week promo was on ( 3 for $15 ) … BUT the server told it’s nt valid on weekends!! You can imagine the ” u r dead” look i gave BH as I have no intention of eating such ex food! BH was like nvm , let’s just enjoy the meal. Oh well, I guess BH is my better half as he’s soooooo much more generous than me

heh.. i eavesdropped and realised that we were nt the only ones who came for the Seattle Resturant Week promo.. haha… maybe coz it’s value for $ or it’s buffet? There’s a large number of asians in the resturant! haha.. did u get my hidden meaning?

So we ordered our food and ate to our hearts content. wanna noe why?? haha.. order 1 entree and you are entitled to free flow of food at the bar ( aka BUFFET) We seriously havent had buffet for the longest time!!! 😀 the variety of food at the buffet is superb.. okok.. unlimited amt of ALASKAN CRAB LEGS, FRESH PRAWNS.. the deserts which includes creme bulee and fondue is to die for!! haha.. and the made-on-the-spot pancakes with white chocolate and bananas! yums!

CRABS – havent eaten REAL CRABS for more than a yr man ( Crabcakes don’t count!) shld have brought our own chili.. haha.. then we’ll have chili crabs!

Total damage: US$85 with tips 

Last but not least… a pic of us and also the last of my perfect sabrina tan – I stained it accidentally with a drop of  hand sanitizer 🙁 that part of the leather ( at the front somemore)kinda decolourised!! Shocked, horror and anguish! The only solution to my pain – get a new bag… and the only bag i want is Chanel… oh well…. maybe the stain is not too obvious… 🙁

Happy day.. BUT delicious food also mean i need to gym like siao this week  🙁

So what’s after brunch? It’s the SIANEST time of the week…erm… grocery shopping or marketing, an unromantic essential weekly activity.. ” so what you wanna eat ah??”

“come home early…”

ok.. so after many many mths of the above statement…. it finally came true!

I mean.. I must really blog abt this cos this is a historical moment..

Last friday, while i was cooking dinner , the kitchen was in absolute mess… suddenly, i heard the door open. I thought I was hearing things… cld be the neighbour’s door…

HOLD AND BEHOLD… it was BH!!

I was so surprised, shocked and beyond words…  I felt so happy .. tears of joy was at the corner of my eyes! 🙂 ah… i didn’t think that BH coming home early ( finally! after so many mths) can make me so happy..  the joy of seeing him home early is even happier than if I received 10 T&C accessories from him?? haha.. I have no idea why

Thanks to his friend who needed 1 more person so they could take the carpool lane – phew.. else this won’t have happened… heh.. prays hard that this will happen every day

[Sidetrack] BH’s office moved to the eastside, so he no longer walks to work. He used to drive BUT the traffic is bad and I so don’t like him driving, it delays his going home time. He takes the company bus aka ‘school bus’ but the time he reach home is still not that early.. haha.. it was a GOOD friday 😀

Beach Vacation

BH and I have NEVER gone for a beach vacation after being with each other for sooooooo long! haha.. okok.. we went to Sentosa a couple of times.. counted? Both of us like shopping so we have this mentality that beach vacation is boring.. like what can we do man? lie on the beach and f*ck in the room? haha.. erm.. we are not that kinda sex-ed up couple.. seriously!

anyhow, because we need to go back to SG ( dates not confirmed) and we are saving up almost all our money – we are thinking of going on a short vacation. I was suggesting Batam or Bintan.. and BH looks at me with a “ewww…” expression

So while surfing around one afternoon… I found THE place .. this was my email to BH

I think my parents will freak if they know we are going to Phuket… :X BH was like US$550+ might as well go Hawaii .. then i was like ” you have your own POOL can!” haha.. then he started to do his own research on renting other villas in Phuket..

oh well.. looking at things… we “talk only, no action” – going back to SG this yr is probably gonna be our ONLY holiday .. kinda disapted… but it’s ok… Looking at the LONG TERM GOAL.. everything s worth it..

double!

i was watching Tyra Show during gym and Tyra was interviewing some women with 2 virginas!!! I mean… how interesting is this! I don’t even know there were such pple! heh… Tyra show is super educational at times 🙂

anyway, some of the husbands/bfs of the women in the show were so excited and happy when they found out their other halves have 2 “holes” .. so I asked BH the same qn when he’s home..

Me: What if I tell u I have 2 virginas?

BH: *looks disgusted* No way!! Imagine 2X the HELL!

hahaha… i didn’t know I was such a tyrant :X

On a happy note, this arrived in my mail ysterday!! wah!! FREE.. love it! always wanted to try this but  reluctant to spend $ on such things – signed up for free sample and I got it!! yay!!

tested it out immediately.. the smell comes off very fast ( makes my place smell like Vanilla ice cream!! ) once plugged into the electric socket BUT it’s kinda too strong in my opinion ( BH says he can’t smell anything) and my nose feel funny.. haha.. i unplugged it for now. I think I will use it after cooking for 30mins… then continue with my trusty scented candles 🙂

What would our life be like…

in SG?

BH and I were randomly chatting and suddenly we thought of this.

do we need to buy groceries?? would we even be cooking at home?

would we be eating out w/o worries ( eg: my tonnes of work)?

the need to visit families?

spending time with friends?

then we decided that life is so much simpler now 🙂

*BIG NEWS* – We had lunch at our fave Facing East yesterday and BH declared that he likes Bittergourd with Salted Eggs!! ( note: he doesn’t like Bittergourd last time) yay!!

Time waits for no man (& woman)

This week flew by really fast.. in fact everyday seem to fly!!

I am trying to enjoy and cherish every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every mth, every year with BH. Maybe it’s because I’m not working – I feel so weak and dependent on BH.. Personally, I think this is bad – throughout my r/s with BH in the past years, I have NEVER felt like that. I just feel that he needed me more than I needed him.. now it’s the opposite? does it mean that love grows on you?

Both of us don’t like to say it often but we are constantly worried about what will happen after 1 year.

“I can’t imagine what it will be like w/o u ard… Imagine.. NO LUNCH BOX!” BH made this random comment. I secretly felt good about myself, then again, I can’t help it but to wonder if he’s mocking me indirectly?

It’s selfish for me to tell BH to put everything here behind and go back to SG. I was telling BH what we can do with the $ that we saved if we go back ! Like how we could have more than enough to renovate our home? buy cool furnitures… blah… ” What the use of all these material things if we are not happy? “ He said. How true… We don’t have much here and we’re happy just doing the same old things every week!

“Don’t leave me …” I told him but I know I will be leaving him eventually. It’s just not me to use the money we painstakingly save on something which we cannot see, something not physical, something we cannot hold on to!

I think I need the courage to face reality. 1 more misconception about marriage: You will not leave each other

It’s weird.. but I think I’ll miss not seeing him out the door every morning for work, telling him to “come home early” ( which he rarely does), cooking for us,  preparing his lunchbox or even not doing all the silly ‘uncle and auntie’ stuff. This makes me sad .. yes yes.. I even tried to think of a billion bad things BH did to make me wanna leave him and I just can’t think of any.. only thought of something else he said 

“You don’t have to be a sucessful career woman – just be my wife. You are good at it”

I thought I always knew what I want. Now, I’m stuck again

Happy 8 years!!

Time flies! It’s 8 years since BH and I are officially an item? wahaha.. and we are still learning new things abt each other… amazing!

Part of our conversation-

BH : It’s 8 years and you are not behaving like my wife

ME: Then how I behave?

BH: Like my kid!!

ME: Geez..  u r then like my kid … have to scold jialiatX2 then will remember.. then will scared

Oh well.. how are we celebrating? erm… .. i’ll b cooking Chicken Rice tonight ( I am v bad at cooking this.. haha.. my mum set the bar toooo high..) then we’ll be watching Alice In wonderland Imax this sunday! yay!!

P/S: Saving $ to buy my freedom and happiness is more difficult than saving $ to get married.. haaha.. seriously,  I can’t rem us saving sooooooooo hard to get married  :X

Happy Birthday BH!

On this day, many years ago.. a baby was born.. wahaha.. Do u belief that God paired you with your mate the moment you are born? heh… since BH is older than me.. he’s been waiting for me for so long… WOW!! ;p

So I am definitely his BEST present ( be it birthday, x’mas etc..) hehehe..

Along side with how bz I was ysterday, I made a cheesecake and it turned out good.. ( not sure how it taste) :X BH havent seen this yet!!!

I just deco the cake – very sloppily simply and in 10 mins… erm.. I’m busy!!

I know he will love it!!

ohh… y Birdnest Head??? Here’s the evidence

you see.. he’s asking for it… ” More please” > He wants ” More HELL!!” haha

Now… he’s no longer Birdnest Head la.. haha…  Handsome boy… peak of his life .. can’t get any better already 🙂

The element of surprise

Haha.. BH proclaim to the ‘world’ that I’ll be having a surprise…. So… let me reveal… what’s the surprise……..

Cupcakes from Cupcake Royale.. erm.. i knda knew it.. that’s probably the only place he knows to get cupcakes.. or cakes that I like? I was kinda touched that he drove to the shop to get it – it wasn’t even on the way!

Then I was presented with the little blue box… and I was ‘AGAIN!!!!’ man… 1 shop fits ALL… all occasions…. it’s just a convenient place to get gifts lor… and he was like ” the sales lady already suggested what I can get for anniversary! ” haha… erm… ok..

anyway, I’m quite happy but thought that he shouldn’t have spent the $ then again… I wanna savour the moment… coz… 20 years down the road.. he might not even take the effort to shop for my present or even give me a pair of earrings…

or rather.. next year.. if my leave doesn’t go thru’ we might not even be spending my or our birthdays together..

Review: Nishino

Dinning out is a luxury for us ever since we began saving money in FULL force.. but we make it a point to try something really really good once a mth…

So we purposely dressed up. Here’s a pic  of  me in my new dress – erm.. do I look pregnant??? I am not!!

Anyway, this month is extra special.. haha.. it’s OUR birthday month! I seriosuly miss Japanese food…so BH and I decided to try Nishino. We were only able to make reservations for 8pm which is too late for us… so the next available timing was 5.15pm .. wah.. this place is popular man!

So we took the 5.15pm reservation and had a kinda early dinner ( wasn’t too early as I was hungry already? haha) Parking space was limited.. we parked along the road up a hill

Ambience was great! Shortly after we were seated, a group of Japanese ladies came.. they were wearing Kimonos! How interesting! 😀

Here’s what we ordered

There’s this ‘Dine around Seattle’ promo where you can choose 3 courses ( appetizers, entree, dessert) for $30! I tried the pronmo while BH ordered a grill squid.. man.. the squid was huge!!! and it’s delicious!!

My appetizer was crab cakes! I love crab cakes!! 😀 the crab meat was so juicy and tasted really good! My main course is a plate of sushi ( abt 11 rolls) and very filling. The wasabi is super powerful.. ate till my tears flowed down.. haha.. the sashimi were very fresh!! love it!! Dessert was abit disapting.. the Red Berry cake was soooooo sour!! and it’s supposed to be from Hiroki Maybe I shld have taken the Green tea tiramisu cake!

We also ordered a special seattle cocktail – not worth mentioning.. it tasted like medicine.. haha..

Service at Nishino was fantastic! BH requested for white rice and it was complimentary! I have complementary miso soup too! haha.. then again, BH gave more tips coz of the complimentary items

Total cost: US$80 w tips

We’ll probably go back there again 🙂

Last but not least……

BH forgot his age and thought he’s 30!! this shows how ridiculously forgetful he is!!!! geeeez…
