Seattle Storm Vs Minnesota Lynx

I managed to get free tix for us to watch a WNBA match at Keyarena 🙂 heh.. it’s not that i’m a basketball fan BUT both of us walked by Keyarena for countless of times and we wondered how is it inside. So I seized the oportunity and managed to get tix for a game for the both of us.

It was a weekday and the match was at 7. BH met me directly at the Keyarena. We went for dinner first (yay!! no need to cook!) then went for the 2nd half of the match

Our seats were pretty good ( compared to the San Antonio seats we paid for)

Okok.. cannot compare men and women NBA games.. haha… I mean I seriously could feel the excitement since we are seating so close to them!

and it was really stormy .. i mean.. the weather became stormy… I forgot my PINK brolly and we ran home…

Guess what’s my fave part of the game?? haha.. when they catapult t-shirts. haha.. the deal would have been slicker if we went home with a FREE souvenir

Overall,it was fun.. at least something different to spice up the mid-week 🙂

how’s your weekend? my weekend was great.. except that I had super bad headache which lasted for 2 days ( saturday and sunday) and i think i finished all the panadols that i can find at home?? There’s no panadols here .. i wonder what’s a substitute for panadol. Is it Tylenol?

anyhow…

I collected our winter jackets from the drycleaner and the lady boss ( asian motherly lady) saw me and she excited said ” hey! u r here! young girl with curly hair!” haha.. at that pt.. i felt so young – as though i was still a little girl! wahaha… oh man.. forgt to take pic.. i wore this really pretty hairband ya know.. super girly… which I like.. heh.. and BH was like ” you look good today… but…. can you stop acting young!! you are not young anymore! ” :X sobz.. i hate to be reminded that i’m old..

we also watched Date Night ( with our Tropicana BOGO movie tix!) Paid $12 for 2 tix.. not cheap.. but well….

we just felt like watching a movie.. a brainless and funny one.. so we bought the tix and went for this.. haha.. we were glad that we went for this show… we could so identify with the silly humour or couple issues in the movie!! haha.. so we were not only laughing at the 2 main characters.. but also laughing at the similarities between ourselves and them!

some note-worthy scenes –

1) The woman wanting to do it all!

This is super true. I always wanna do everything coz I think BH is unable to do things up to my expectations. Then, I realised that if I allow him to some chores ( heck care how is it done).. he’ll do it eventually and learn how to do it better each time!! I admit I was sooooo busy the last week and I anyhow cook dinner.. BH ( though tired from work) had to do all the clearing up with little or rather no supervision  and I was glad that he did a good job!

2) Retainers and sleep

BH laughed really hard at this part! oh well, so the woman in the show wore retainers to sleep and they wanted to get intimate so it was kinda difficult. erm.. i still wear my retainers to sleep!! haha… now u get it?

3) Frequency of married sex

The woman in the show was talking to her friend ( who is gonna file for divorce) abt why their marriage didn’t work out.. So she gasped when she knew her friend was having sex 2X a week and still wanted a divorce. heh.. it was funny.. coz BH and I, being  young …can’t even recall when was the last time we got intimate!!! :O so we were seriously LOLing at our little pte joke..heh

at the end of the day, we were super tired but i’m glad we went for the movie…. time well spent! 🙂 though i still feel that BH and I are prefect room mates… hahaha.. what’s wrong with that??!!

IMAX: Alice in Wonderland

Yesterday, BH and I went for our once a month movie fix! yay!! we finally caught Alice In Wonderland

I like this movie… its whimsical, magical feel makes me feel like everything is possible… love those nonsense words and jibberish, though I don’t understand a thing… haha.. I need to read the book!!

After the movie, I was telling BH how I felt like I’m Alice.. and I’m in wonderland now…

I think this is sooo me “sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast”  it’s silly and but I keep believing… 🙂

Games

Last week was a crazy week for me but  extremely happy week for BH. I gave him permission to ” do anything he likes” so he played his fave game of all time Diablo and he was soooooo disapted that i’m more free this week.. he was like asking ” so when’s the next BIG sale?? ” grrr…

During the weekend, there’s a price drop on the PS3 game Little Big Planet – usual price was $59.99 but it dropped to $30!! So we decided to buy this game after waiting for many many mths . We bought a pre-owned one which looks super new and it’s $26.99! cool!! we also bought the Sonic Genesis which was on sale at $14.99.. erm.. BH just wanted to relive his childhood days? haha

Our little incentive after saving/working like siao for the past mths 🙂 finally a break from Critter Crunch after getting sooooo frustrated that we can’t be in the Top 50! heh

The element of surprise

Haha.. BH proclaim to the ‘world’ that I’ll be having a surprise…. So… let me reveal… what’s the surprise……..

Cupcakes from Cupcake Royale.. erm.. i knda knew it.. that’s probably the only place he knows to get cupcakes.. or cakes that I like? I was kinda touched that he drove to the shop to get it – it wasn’t even on the way!

Then I was presented with the little blue box… and I was ‘AGAIN!!!!’ man… 1 shop fits ALL… all occasions…. it’s just a convenient place to get gifts lor… and he was like ” the sales lady already suggested what I can get for anniversary! ” haha… erm… ok..

anyway, I’m quite happy but thought that he shouldn’t have spent the $ then again… I wanna savour the moment… coz… 20 years down the road.. he might not even take the effort to shop for my present or even give me a pair of earrings…

or rather.. next year.. if my leave doesn’t go thru’ we might not even be spending my or our birthdays together..

Snowboarding Day 3 – GRAD DAY!

On the first day of Spring ( March 20) , BH and I went for our final beginner snowboard lesson ( oxymoron?) haha.. the weather was superb.. it was bright and sunny!

we were expecting a crowd at the ski area BUT it was so empty! haha… which is good.. coz we did at least 15 runs! and there was NO line at the chairlift!! nice!!

 

BH and I don’t even need to share a chairlift – see the pic of me on the lift? heh.. my mum wld freak if she sees it :X

YayI can do 1 complete run ( easy one la) w/o falling most of the time! and I can control my speed and direction! quite proud with my achievements!

BUT I still can’t come out of the chairlift w/o falling 🙁 BH can lor… soooooooo… the instructor was very nice.. hahaha… quite cute can….

caught me when I fall!! heh… I almost made him “fall” on me! haha.. if only it is ‘for’ me lor…wahahaha… This instructor is super good.. He even helped me to tie my boot’s laces coz it came loose!!! :O I feel like a princess!!

I had alot of difficulty trying to master the toe side turn, so he held my hand and I kinda snowboarded with him 😀 cool!!!

back to school!

The weather in Seattle is fantastic today… it’s sunny.. skies are blue.. you can see the mountains.. the temperature still abit low.. it’s chilly.. SPRING’S here! In my opinion, it’s the most beautiful season of the year! 🙂 well, I won’t be able to enjoy spring if I didn’t come here.. ah… can this be forever?

Since we I had to go to University Village to run some errands, we decided to drop by UW ( University of Washington aka U-dub)

The environment brought a continuous ‘WOoooooW!’ to our mouths *do u have a mental image of this??!! haha…* Anyhow, the campus is huge! I personally thought that the ‘old’ feel of the whole place is like NUS? haha… but then again.. the architecture is totally diff from what we see in SG… somehow, both of us were like ” Our offsprings is gonna study here..” heh… well, so weird to say ‘offsprings’ right? haha… we were inspired by the season ‘Spring’ ! 😀

Unboxing Kitchenaid mixer

After thinking long and hard on whether we shld open the mixer or sell it…. we finally decided to KEEP it! 🙂 heh.. no regrets! The size of the 6qts bowl is even bigger than my head BUT big bowl is good… it allows space to add ingredients and prevents splatters!

I love the all steel construction. Even the beaters and dough hooks are steel! ( unlike the Artisan, it’s plastic? not that sturdy esp if u r making bread dough) The colour of the mixer ( Dark Pewter) is really chic and pretty – matched our Brita flask. So we opened the mixer and we needed to test it out right? Used a cake mix ( the simplest way to bake) to bake cupcakes and a 9″ cake.

Cakes turns out nice! NO FUSS at all… no need to clean the batter which landed on the table… I have free hands to do some washing while the mixing is in process… wah! worth every single penny!

However, maybe the engine is ‘powerful’ ( 575 watts) – it’s super noisy, sounds abit like vaccum cleaner.. and maybe it’s new.. it has some weird engine smell coming out.. ohh… some parts of the flour was not mixed properly – so i needed to stop the mixer on a few occasions to scrape down.

Other than that…the mixing action is superb. It keeps the place clean and does the job done FAST 🙂

Us and our great kitchen helper – Will definitely try to bake bread soon!

PS: Being able to bake with BH is bliss… it’s like doing your fave thing with your fave person.. happy! I wonder how long more do I have.
