stress.. it spreads

These few weeks (until now) are pretty stressful days for BH.. hmm.. he used to work late at the office but after some form of “hell” from me – he had decided to come home on time , do his regular hsehold chores then work thru’ the night…

well… he’s getting kinda short tempered too… so need to be very tactful and sensitive.

Example 1:
Do not say “eee… u got new pimples!”
Say “There’s some new evidence of you becoming younger on your face!”

Example 2:
Do not say ” you didn’t wash the plates properly”
Say ” you really enjoy my cooking that you wanna leave some leftovers for tml”

ahem… frens and family who’s coming… u r warned!!! unless u miss the ‘angry chicken’ drama… haha… :X

I thnk the stress is kinda getting to me too .. like he’ll wake up every morning and tell me he feels stressed? hmm… i seriously do not know how to help him πŸ™ so…i can only keep my mouth shut and play the supportive role – “Don’t worry, God will help you” , ” I pray for u.. things will b fine”. But then again right after the wedding, he doesn’t even wanna belief in “God” anymore… it’s sad…

Anyway, he’ll be delightfully happy that Caryn & I will be going for a short getaway next week – nobody to pester him to come home for dinner b4 the dishes gets cold. I bet he loves to eat microwave food and instant noodles!

When things are ard, you don’t cherish – wait till things are gone, then you’ll feel the loss. ahhh…this is life…

best buy!

wore my wedges out today… bad idea.. dunno yΒ  it hurts so bad… no choice… no MONDO here only ALDO.

Bought this pair of shoes from ALDO – US$4.88 only!!! wahahahaha.. so comfy somemore… isn’t it a good deal? heh

Mini Roadtrip to Fall City + Snoqualmie + others

BH and I made a short roadtrip to Fall City and Snoqualmie and North Bend and more.. phew.. so many places… quite tiring actually… oh well…read on..

1st Stop: Fall City Roadhouse

Seattle > Fall City. Took I5 then Hwy 202. Pass Redmond. Total journey time is 45mins. Traveled thru’ narrow roads and farms.. and finally.. we reached Fall City! The Fall City Roadhouse can be easily seen once u enter from Hwy202

when we reached here, we seriously had a hard time looking for a decent parking slot πŸ™ We ended up parking in someone’s basketball court, where there’s a sleeping dog We walked towards the restaurant and BH realized tt he didnt bring his camera, so he walked back to the car… and the dog was awake alr!guess what? It was barking at BH sooooo ferociously like it’s gonna attack him! I was terrified!!! ” what if the dog have rabies?”I really do not know how to help him πŸ™ as I was watching helplessly, an angel appeared! She seem to know the dog, so she called onto it and distract it ” shadow!! shadow!!”

as the dog was distracted, bh managed to get into the car. By then, there’s a decent parking slot available. He quickly parked the car and we went into the resturant… man… bad experience!

Bottomline: Wait for a slot – do not park near a black furry dog, if u do… make sure u distract it .. it’s name is “Shadow”

We ordered food , can’t rem what BH ordered BUT I had Biscuits with gravy.

I think i was too freaked out by the dog or something… the food didnt taste tt good to me πŸ™ anyhow, we finished the food and left the place.

2nd stop: Snoqualmie Falls

We head to Snoqualmie Falls – parked at a slot with 90mins limit.. i think we spent only like 20mins there.. haha

The waterfall is really pretty ( as seen from the pic below, we are not even using professional camera) and it’s cold! so pls bring a windbreaker!

3rd Stop: Northwest railway Museum

Found this place by accident! we were on our way to North Bend and we saw this touristy place… so we stop by and took a look

If you are wondering.. the train actually moves… for like US$10, we can take this train from Snoqualmie > North Bend>Snoqualmie again. we wanted to try BUT thot it’s ptless… haha… maybe during x’mas

4th stop: Snoqualmie Casino

Well.. the gambler in Bh says he wanna stop by Snoqualmie Casino. Very new… very nice.. and the guards stop me to check my ID – they think i’m under-aged! I feel sooooo flattered! πŸ™‚

5th Stop: North Bend

For the factory outlets .. not so crowded! ;p

6th stop: Seattle Costco

p1010320

It’s a huge supermarket tt sells almost everything.. need member card to go in… oh well.. we come here occasionally to buy food in bulk, they only sell food in bulk and large quantities..

The BIGGEST reason for us to be here is…… we needed to buy a fan as the weather is getting warmer…Costco is the like 7th place we went to look for a fan… no.. fans are cheap starting from abt US$20.. just tt BH is being soooo picky!

Let me list down the places we went( FYI, we went to no. 1 – 6 on saturday!)

1) Walmart

2) Home Depot

3) Kmart

4) Best buy

5) Target

6) Bed Bath & beyond

7) Costco ( lucky 7! we bought our fan.. phew… u wont wanna noeΒ  how many apartments we viewed before we choose our current one )

7th Stop: Uwajimaya

Grocery shopping … Bought fish.. wanna steam BUT i forgot to buy ginger

8th Stop: Safeway ( near our place)

Bought ginger and head home… traffic was really bad at our area as there’s women NBA at keyArena, right outside our aptment…

To save money,I came home and cooked spaghetti for dinner… oh well.. That’s our busy weekend.. πŸ™‚

BOOKED – Grand Canyon tour!

My family is planning to go for a Grand Canyon day tour in late July… after many many considerations and looking at the different agencies – we had decided to go for grand-adventures: Grand Canyon Sunset Tours! ;p well.. it’s rated No. 1 on tripadvisor!!

Initially, we wanted to join the cheapest Grand Canyon tour like greyline or viator.. but i realised tt for a top-up for US$50, we cld have a better experience and see MORE!

so.. after a massive dunno how many hours discussion with my sis and many emails shooting here and there… we have decided to join this

wah.. i got sooooooo excited after reading thru’ the testimonials and reviews from tripadvisor!

Grand Canyon!! Here I come!!

β™₯ Love β™₯

My husband is Software Engineer by profession, I love him for his steady nature and I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders.

Two years of courtship and now, five years into marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it. The reasons of me loving him before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restlessness.

I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feelings. I yearn for the romantic moments, like a little girl yearning for candy. My husband is my complete opposite; his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about LOVE.

One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision, that I wanted a divorce.

“Why? ” he asked, shocked.

“I am tired. There are no reasons for everything in the world !” I answered.

He kept silent the whole night, seemingly in deep thought. My feeling of disappointment only increased. Here was a man who was not able to even express his predicament, so what else could I expect from him?

And finally he asked me: “What can I do to change your mind?”

Somebody said it right… It’s hard to change a person’s personality, and I guess, I have started losing faith in him.

Looking deep into his eyes I slowly answered: “Here is the question. If you can answer and convince my heart, I will change my mind.

Let’s say, I want a flower located on the face of a mountain cliff, and we both are sure that picking the flower will cause your death. Will you do it for me?”

He said: ” I will give you your answer tomorrow….” My hopes just sank by listening to his response.

I woke up the next morning to find him gone, and saw a piece of paper with his scratchy handwriting underneath a milk glass, on the dining table near the front door, that goes….

My dear, “I would not pick that flower for you, but….please allow me to explain the reasons further…..

This first line was already breaking my heart. I continued reading.

“When you use the computer you always mess up the Software programs, and you cry in front of the screen. I have to save my fingers so that I can help to restore the programs.

You always leave the house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for you.

You love traveling but always lose your way in a new city. I have to save my eyes to show you the way.

You always have the cramps whenever your “good friend” approaches every month. I have to save my palms so that I can calm the cramps in your tummy.

You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will be infected by infantile autism. I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes and stories to cure your boredom.

You always stare at the computer, and that will do nothing good for your eyes. I have to save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help to clip your nails and help to remove those annoying white hairs. So I can also hold your hand while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful sand…and tell you the colour of flowers, just like the colour of the glow on your young face…

Thus, my dear, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do… I could not pick that flower yet, and die … ”

My tears fell on the letter, and blurred the ink of his handwriting… And as I continue on reading… “Now, that you have finished reading my answer, and if you are satisfied, please open the front door for I am standing outside bringing your favorite bread and fresh milk…

I rushed to pull open the door, and saw his anxious face, clutching tightly with his hands, the milk bottle and loaf of bread….Now I am very sure that no one will ever love me as much as he does, and I have decided to leave the flower alone…

That’s LIFE, and LOVE. When one is surrounded by love, the feeling of excitement fades away, and one tends to ignore the true love that lies in between the peace and dullness.

Love shows up in all forms; even in very small and cheeky forms. It has never been a model. It could be the dullest and most boring form …

Flowers, and romantic moments are only used and appear on the surface of the relationship. Under all this, the pillar of true love stands… AND THAT’S LIFE

People often goes for romantic gestures, surprises and sweet words whispered into their ears. We fall in love and feel loved because of these so called romantic moments.

But the truth is romantic moments cannot show how much a person loves you. They merely create the feeling of being loved.

——————————–
No i didn’t write the story – got it off someone’s blog.. Thanks!

I can so totally relate to this story man… even if one day BH and I reached this pt.. i don’t think he’ll even give a damn to do something romantic just to rekindle the r/s

Ultimately, call me immature or what – i don’t care if he love me “deep deep” or not… i wld rather have romantic moments πŸ™

same but different

wanted to blog but kept procastinating until now… well.. i even edited the pics to put up!

last fri, BH and i went to Capitol Hill as he had an apptment for haircut.. nice.. at least now BH found a suitable place to cut his hair > cost US$20 for a haircut + US$5 tips.. as long as human labour is involved.. u gt to give tips… this is how it’s like here.. we had pho for dinner at my fave pho shop! the pho is cheap and nice and it’s served with yummy cream puffs! shld take pics of it next time!

on sat. , we met up with julius at Redmond for some bank transaction else we will be eating grass and drinking rainwater now… thanks julius…while waiting for him, i took a pic with the same cherry blossom tree i took 1 mth back… see the difference? tt’s how a cherry blossom tree looks like when its flowers wither.

desktop

then Julius brought us to this super nice Dim Sum place for lunch!!! i love the dim sum there… super duper authentic… very Hongkong style…most of all affordable! we had lunch with some of julius’ thai friends… nice to have company! i like meeting new pple… but as usual BH is super passive and anti-social… at 1st, he didn’t wanna go BUT since we didnt have much plans we went! nice lunch!! yummy!!!

looking at the dirty state of our car, we haven’t washed it ever since we bought it, Julius then brought us to a car wash – Brown Bear. The types of car wash available have very singlish names.. haha… ” Beary Basic” , “Beary Good” , “Beary Best” .. we went for “BearyGood” which includes some waxing .. now blackie looks sooooo new and clean!

On sunday, we went to Ihop for breakfast then Bh insisted on going back to work and drag me along to his office… right… we were right at the building and his acess card didnt work after countless of tries… so we head back home and Bh worked at home while i finish up ” The Time-traveler’s Wife” which was an amazing book.. so sweet and romantic… imagine knowing your life-partner from young.. and seeing him again even when he’s no longer ard…

“it’s better to be extremely happy for a short while, even if you lose it, than to be just okay for your whole life” how true.. this quote mks me feel that i shld just go back to sg after 2 yrs and ctd teaching – at least i was happy for awhile you know… ah… now i know what to do… bh doesn’t really need me ard anyway…

anyway, I am having a bad headache now even after eating panadol… once it starts in the morning.. it wont go away till tml… πŸ™ and bh have a meeting at 7pm means he cant buy food and i still need to cook… let’s mk a bet – i predict he’ll only be home at 10pm today… ( last week was 11pm) sianz… even when he’s home – he either watch TV or do his work…Β  sianz..

let me end off with some misc. pics –

what Bh wore, which he thot he looked good… but i think he looks super ah beng:

Memorial Day weekend

It was a long weekend here over in the US.

BH and I went to Krispy Kreme for the first time.. heh… had breakfast here…v cheap! 4 doughnuts+ 2 coffee = US$4+!! cheaper than macs! oh well… it’sΒ  very fattening but yummy! love the glazed doughnuts the most! πŸ™‚

Then there’s this HUGE funfair at Seattle Centre.. near our home! it’s like a angmo version of pasar malam! very crowded… and they stole super pretty straw hat! I really wanna get them.. but too ex! US$49 can!!

Photography not allowed.. so these few pics…

recently-updated2

and then i wondered… why is time so elastic here?? like you can do 1 million and 1 things in a day! haha… wanna noe why? the sun sets at abt 9pm and rise at abt 6.30am!!

We also caught Night at the Musuem 2 at IMAX! 1 tix for like US$3.50 as Bh have corporate rate! heh… so much cheaper than watching movie in sg! :p I love the show! so light hearted and funny… mks me happy!

p1010743

There’s a quote in the movie which struck me – “The key to happiness is doing what you love with people you love.” ah.. how true! isn’t this what i wanted?

and tt’s how we spent our long weekend… oh yes! not forgetting shopping online and at the outlet.. everywhere sale, sale and sale!

can’t wait for July 4 > Independence Day sale!

Oregon day trip

BH and I decided to make a trip to Oregon, the tax free state on 16 may 2009! You bet how excited we were.. to think abt the shopping we can do! wahaha… how we love shopping! so… we woke up at abt 7am ( shld have been 6 but we overslept), ate breakfast and set off by 8am.

the weather was nice and sunny and it was a easy drive… we drove by Tacoma Dome , the place where new year’s party was held… reminds me of the dome in thailand though.. haha

dscf4830

we were happily on I-5 when all the cars started to slow down… and dunno y BH’s speed was kinda fast… and suddenly.. there’s a white car with flashing lights tailgating us! ” is he asking me to stop?” BH asked me… well.. i saw the car signalling right and i was like ” yes!” shit… we were caught for speeding! man… BH was driving at 79miles/hr according to the police… really scared and turned jelly man… sianz… so.. no choice – we accepted the fine of US$93!!! heart pain man…. after the policeman gave us the ticket, we continued with our journey and realised tt along tt same stretch of I-5, about4 more cars were caught speeding as well!!! argh… btw, the police cars DO NOT HAVE ANY POLICE LOGOS ON IT – they look just like any ordinary cars!!! i think it’s juz our luck, the police cameΒ  all at one go and caught every single car who were driving behind us… you get the picture??? geeez…. so.. next time… don’t ever go over the speed limit of 60miles/hr… unless.. u have a radar detector to tell u tt police is near ..

anyhow.. our mood was not dampened.. we continue with the journey… after 2.5 hrs… we entered oregon! *phew* super long drive…

dscf4832

*the words are too small to be seen*

so.. we travelled somemore to the Big Big factory outlet at Woodburn (even bigger than seattle premium outlets)! we reached Woodburn Company Store at 11.35am.. so it tooks us 3.5hrs to reach here from seattle

p1010624

The sun in oregon was extremely scorching.. cant even open my eyes… i think summer will be worst man…

well.. we had lunch and walked ard… and you know what! we didn’t buy much… bought something at Gap, went to buy a electric mixer and a wok at the Kitchen store, BH bought a bag at Quiksilver, I bought a roxy belt.. oh man… tt’s all!! there’s nothing i really really want to buy at Coach or Guess or Tommy or Aeropostale so decided to save the $$ to pay for the speeding fine.

At about 3pm, we went to our next destination , about 20mins drive from Woodburn… Washington Square – why wld they name this mall Washington Square when it’s not even in Washington? haha… anyhow… there’s ample parking space and parking is free at this mall…

This mall is HUGE and the price tag >> “what u see is what u get!” it’s tax free!!! keke…so

1st stop: Coach

Took a bag I bought last week to exchange for another bag and the salesgirl gave me a 25% discount ( even though the VIP event was over last weekend!) wah… i’m so shocked and happy… and we’ve decided to use this chance to get more coach items. Bought wristlets and Bh bought a coach wallet for himself! nice… they even give wrap it nicely! very impressed with this Coach Boutique’s service ( better than the one I went at seattle!) Special thanks to the super kind and helpful Chlesea and Erica! I was a happy girl! hehe.. Bh was a happy boy too!

2nd stop: Forever 21 ( XXI)

Bought a new dress and black leggings! yeah!! happy!! i tried paying with my CC and it was rejected!!!! *bang head* πŸ™ we reached our credit limit… man… Bh isn’t with me! luckily, i have cash… else so malu

3rd stop: Abercrombie

Bh bought a fleece hoodie here… nice!

4th stop:Bath&Body works

The hand soup was only $3! ( no tax!) so we juz bought 2 bottles! Sea Island Cotton smells really good! and it’s anti-bacteria! can’t stop washing my hands! haha…

5th stop: Claire’s

Bought hairbands… coz mine kept breaking!

6th stop: Food court

Had indian food for dinner

7th stop: Nordstrom

Bought clinque pimple gel for Bh and gt the SA to give BH some free samples to improve his complexion.. heh… i also got a free sample to even out my complexion ;p

———-

Left Oregon at about 7pm .. had a hard time looking for a petrol kiosk.. dunno y also… anyhow… we reached home at 10.30pm and we were dead tired… I think BH shld be even more tired… coz he drove so much!!! Thanks BH for the wonderful trip…

And you know what??? the amt of tax we saved on our shopping was returned to the state > coz of the fine… oh well.. it’s indeed a fruitful trip..and our next trip, we hope to go to downtown portland, which we missed out on this trip..
