Crazy fun!

BH just made this ‘Neoprint’ app on his phone and he’s testing it out by taking lots of pics..haha.. here’s an example:

Oh yes..it’s nothing new BUT he’s having a whole lot of fun creating the words + images.. Just this morning, he was like smiling to himself like a maniac..

Me: what’s so funny? you kuku ah!

BH: can’t wait to put the lion image around your head! haha

Then I know.. what is passion… nv getting tired of doing the same kind of things… I admire BH for his passion in programming… sometimes.. I wish I can be like him… I don’t think any teacher will feel excited about marking compos or recorrections every single day :X

——-

And I finally bought my straw hat after 1 year…

Super happy! Isn’t it cute? Haha.. it’s like US$7 at AE – I was still hesitating if I shld get it… BUT BH was like ‘just buy .. so cheap!’ Happy happy!

A more auntie/uncle side of us – managed to score 2 FREE bottles of Listerine Zero at Walgreens … iyoh.. super happy… heh.. will print more coupons to get more… cross my fingers that the Walgreens near my place have this type of listerine …

That’s all for now!

Gmarket shopping: Korean dress size chart

I am itching to shop on Gmarket BUT I got to control myself as we’ll be headed to Korea later this yr.. haha.. i’ll or rather we have at least 7 days to shop can!

Anyway, my friend emailed me and asked me about Korean dress size… this particular shop had their words in a picture format (.jpg) so google can’t do the transalation.  I asked Liting the expert and …. she helped me out with the translation in no time! 😀 Thank you!

Sharing it with everyone here –

Best Dimsum in Seattle

After going to many different places for Dimsum … TOP GUN is still our favourite 🙂

Of course, we ate some other items ( not pictured) BUT my favourite is the Prawn chee chong fan ( they call it ‘har cheong’ ) and soya beancurd! I haven’t had soya beancurd since I left SG .. and soya beancurd taste so good!!! while i love the soya beancurd, BH love the char siew bao.. haha…

More soya beancurd pls!!!!

Yes – so good food comes with a price… I weigh myself and found out that I gained 1kg 🙁 sianz..

Maneki Japanese Resturant

We had dinner at Maneki Japanese Resturant after our Zoo excursion. It is a popular Japanese resturant, which I found on yelp.com. Reservations needed to be made EARLY , eg: a few days before BUT I didn’t mk any reservations. As a result, the earliest timing we got was 8.30pm ( although we reached the resturant at 6pm sharp) The very kind lady boss suggested that we could have our dinner at the bar area.. I was very reluctant as I did not have any intention of drinking.. BUT BH was like ‘OK!’ So we went to sit at the bar…

We had these figurines staring right at us as we sat down/ate

I had no idea what is the significance of these.

Anyway, we ordered our food and BH ordered Asashi – the bottle was HUGE! I was kinda worried that BH won’t be able to drive us home so I told the server that we are sharing the beer.

Here’s the irritating part – The server DID NOT allow me to drink the beer as I did not have my passport with me – they did don’t accept IC or SG driving license. I was super irritated and it was sooooooooooo hard to hide my anger as I was sitting at the bar  ( No choice have to face her) So I show her face colour. In the end, she made me nice non-alcoholic cranberry juice mixed with Calpico Luckily, she made me a drink else I’m so gonna write a super bad review on yelp! Ok.. so I felt better after the drink.. the drink was so nice that we also bought Calpico and mixed our own at home.. haha.. perfect summer drink!!

So – to the point… the food was great! It’s not because we haven’t had good Japanese food for sometime BUT the sashimi was fresh ! yums! food was authentic. However, for the oyster rice ( it has a japanese name , can’t recall) we felt that there were just too much rice and too little oysters. overall,  we felt like we ate a whole lot and the price was reasonable!

Total damage: US$48 with 20% tips

We’ll go again BUT i’ll rem to bring my passport and mk reservation EARLY the next time round..

Happy BH and semi-happy me … it would have been a better date!

Woodland Park Zoo

Yay! BH and I made it to Woodland Park Zoo on Saturday. Initially, our plan was to go to San Juan for Whale-watch using our rain check BUT changed our mind at the last minute as I needed to go to the bank. Anyway, it was a bad bad idea that we didn’t go to San Juan as a whole lot of Ocras were spotted!!! 🙁 I feel so ‘gek’ … should have gone

Although we missed out on the whales, we saw a whole lot of other animals 🙂

Maybe we kinda started late, reached the zoo ard 11.30am – the parking was full. We managed to find a street parking .. heng! so parking was FREE! If you are wondering how’s the Zoo .. erm.. it’s NOTHING compared to SG – Singapore Zoological Gardens or rather San Diego Zoo is still better 🙂 There’s no animal shows or tram to bring you ard in this zoo…  However, the entrance fee for the seattle zoo is so much cheaper .

The weather was super duper hot and dry – perfect for a ZOO excursion. It was amazing that the Penguins enclosure was outdoors.. heh.. non air-conditioned!!! I think the Penguins got burnt…

See the black part? haha.. it’s so lame I know!

I also spotted this weirdo at the zoo

Looks familar?? geeez… BH insisted on wearing a shirt to the zoo?! I was like ‘ok….. ‘ iyoh…wear shirt means I need to iron 🙁 he seriously think that I’m very free at home can .. oh well… the interesting thing is …….. HE WAS NOT ALONE. Apparently, there are other men who wore shirt to the zoo too!!!

heh.. so… we needed ice-cream because of the hot weather.. ( ice-cream is yucky! total waste of my calories)

We spent about 4 hrs in the zoo… then headed for dinner 🙂

little things that meant alot

This is a blog post with no pics 🙁 we are taking lesser pics these days.. because things are more or less the same? oh well…ok.. i’ll mk a concious effort to take pics ! means… we’ll do something new this weekend! Hopefully eat out? We haven’t ate out for sometime.. and cooking is currently on ‘repeat’ mode

Last weekend, BH’s collegue invited us to his house-warming party.. It was the 1st time I met this particular collegue and guess what’s the first thing he told me? “so… you are the one responsible for BH’s delicious lunch!!! we are soooooooo envious of him!!!” even if he’s just being nice… that sentence made my day night! hahaha… there’s somebody who’s envious of BH lor….  haha… so i was discussing this with BH and he was like “of course they are envious! our canteen food is soooooooo limited ya know! I am soooooooo happy that I have lunchbox for work!” This is seriously my motivation to cook everyday

So it’s the ‘free’ period for now.. i like it when i’m free.. coz I like to spend time looking for new recipes and try cooking ( or re-cooking, just to perfect a dish/cake) A few days back, I made Kaya again! Yums! No pics.. but BH and I are like sooooooo happy when there’s kaya.. haha… means we’ll eat Kaya toast with 1/2 boil eggs for breakfast the next day. Super shiok!

BH and I also went shopping and bought some new ‘costumes’ for our upcoming holiday!!! oh yes… BH just cannot tahan that we have been treating ourselves badly for the past 8 mths so he seized the opportunity to book tix to _ _ _ _ _ _ . wahahaha…. not saying where yet :X BUT we are looking forward to the ‘suddenly vacation’ next mth! 😀

He grills!

BH was inspired by a random grilling/bbq show on TV.. so he decided to try to grill at home!

He researched on how to care and use a grill pan… and we bought 1 at Walmart.. haha.. he also searched for a recipe to cook for us ! 🙂

The food –

Paired with wine

There’s always a reason to celebrate with good food and wine….. so….Cheers to  100 months to us!! ( too bad we can’t celebrate 100 years.. haha… he’s not Edward and I’m not Bella )

Seafair parade!

Yay! Seafair is here! 😀

BH and I went for the Seafair parade just outside our home last weekend! haha.. We were standing by the curb, watching the parade – It’s a Seattle Chingay. You get the idea! It was a nice experience.. haha.. rem the truckload of clowns? One of them ^5 with me and gave me a pair of sunglasses… wahaha
