Kaya toast is so readily available! I mean.. who would wanna go through all the trouble to make your own kaya ( haha..okok.. except \u00a0my mum &#8211; who would mk her own kaya anyway) I also rem the pandan aroma from the kitchen when my mum mks kaya and how she would spent a whole lot of time &#8216;watching&#8217; fire and &#8216;stiring&#8217; the mixture.. heh.. when the process is done.. I would rush to the kitchen, grab bread and start to eat&#8230; yummy! Love the hot Kaya on the bread&#8230; tastes sooooo good!<\/p>\n<p>During the weekend, we finally managed to buy Pandan leaves. Yesterday, I attempted to make <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.madefreshtoday.com\/?p=1431\">Kaya<\/a>\u00a0myself. (Note: We can buy Glory brand Kaya here, but it&#8217;s not as nice as the other brands in SG) I modified the<a href=\"http:\/\/livingfootprints.com.au\/?p=514\"> recipe<\/a> I found online with what my mum would have done and I&#8217;m v pleased with the outcome \ud83d\ude42\u00a0As I was cooking, I was secretly licking my fingers &#8211; Kaya!! Yums!! \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This morning, we had this for breakfast.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/seattletimes.6eptember.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/P1080969.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1586\" title=\"P1080969\" src=\"http:\/\/seattletimes.6eptember.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/P1080969-300x264.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seattletimes.6eptember.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/P1080969-300x264.jpg 300w, https:\/\/seattletimes.6eptember.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/P1080969.jpg 359w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Coffee, Toasted\u00a0bread with homemade kaya and margarine, Half boiled eggs)<\/p>\n<p>Both of us were like &#8216;shioks!!!!&#8217; haha.. my own version of Ya Kun!<\/p>\n<p>I can forsee myself mking more Kaya in future \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I suddenly crave those moments in SG when you can smell\u00a0Ya Kun\u00a0from afar.
